'80s Throwback! 10 Movies That Pay Homage to the Decade

Who doesn't love a good '80s movie? The shoulder pads, the hair bands, the abnormally large cell phones — many Hollywood films have tried to recreate the feeling of the era through film, including this week's release Take Me Home Tonight. The film's cast already had fun re-enacting classic '80s film scenes, but it got me thinking about other films that pay tribute to the beloved decade. Here are 10 of the most memorable!

Adventureland

Over the course of one summer in 1987, James (Jesse Eisenberg) joins a local amusement park to help pay for graduate school. It's there that he falls for fellow games worker Emily (Kristen Stewart) and learns to loosen up — all against the backdrop of an awesome soundtrack that includes The Cure, Whitesnake, and David Bowie

Most moviegoers mainly know Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, the self-centered and manipulative genius at the heart of David Fincher's 'The Social Network.' Eisenberg's Oscar-nominated performance in Fincher's Facebook flick hasn't exactly made him a household name (Some people have actually mistaken him for the real Mark Zuckerberg), but it's certainly made the public finally take notice of his talent.
