Peter Facinelli The Nurse Jackie star & virtual cowboy enjoys iPhone duels
First thing in the morning, I check my email on my iPhone or laptop.
What do you read or watch or listen to at the breakfast table?
Normally, I just listen to the crispiness of my bacon as I chew.
What occupies your mind in the car, on the subway, train, or bus?
Playing games on my iPhone and checking my Twitter account
occupies my time when I'm traveling. When I'm driving, I just throw on some music–whatever's playing on the radio.
Are you a TV junkie or on an airtime-restricted diet?
I don't watch a lot of television–I usually watch movies and documentaries using Netflix. I just saw a documentary called The Last Word about a guy who's wrongly accused of murder. I actually got the rights, and I want to make a film about it.
If you're a couch potato, what do you watch, and how: TV, laptop, or tablet?
My two favorite shows are Dexter and Nurse Jackie, which I'm probably biased toward because I'm on it. I don't really turn the TV on because I can watch whatever I want on my laptop. I'm really looking forward to Internet TV, which Apple and Google are working on.
Before bed, do you bite into a novel, graze on Twitter, or fast until morning?
Graze on Twitter. I communicate with my fans and share my day with them. I'm interested in what the people who are following me have to say.
Which is more nutritious: print or Web?
I think that the Web is more nutritious because it's a quicker source of information. You can go to a number of sites and get different information from more than one source.
Give us the skinny on your favorite app.
High Noon–it's the best game. You duel with another cowboy and use your cell phone as a gun. You're actually playing someone else live.
What's your biggest digital indulgence?
I'm really an Internet junkie. And I love my iPhone because it allows me to search the Web, check my email, take pictures of the family, communicate with people, and play games all at once.
With such a bloated media universe, how do you cut out the fat?
I streamline everything down to the Internet. You can stream your news, TV shows, and movies there. I do miss watching things on a big-screen platform, but I feel like at this level, we really need it to all be integrated.

Nurse Jackie:DVD & Blu-ray Releases Planned for 'Season 3' of the Showtime Series
This past March through June, Showtime aired Nurse Jackie - Season 3, starring Edie Falco and Peter Facinelli. Now Amazon has begun taking pre-orders for the latest season on both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc formats. These listings are prior to the official Lionsgate Entertainment announcement for the items, though, so instead of a street date Amazon only says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." Pricing is available, however, currently showing $39.98 SRP for the standard DVD and $39.97 SRP for the Blu-ray (you can, of course, guarantee your copy right away at a discounted price, if you order it using either of the above links). There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entries, nor is there cover art yet (just temp art used to promote the show's broadcasts). Stay tuned, however, and we'll update you further on this title, just as soon as we find out anything more!

Los Angeles Times: Q&A with Peter Facinelli
This year was a rough one for Coop: He had to endure the pain of a bunion and the breakup of his lesbian parents . Have you created your own back story for him?
Definitely. I think that all of his current problems stem from the emotional baggage of his childhood. And I don't think his issues stem from his parents being lesbians — I think it's how they were as moms. He was coddled, and his upbringing has had an effect on him. He was unpopular, and he didn't understand why. I imagine it as if he was a puppy in a room full of people who don't like dogs. I think as a kid he was jumping all over people and was always getting kicked away. Now he's a 12-year-old boy trapped in a 30-year-old body. That's why I have so much sympathy for him. He doesn't do anything out of malice. It's just that he is completely self-absorbed and unaware.
As someone who's appeared in films, is it fun to play a TV character who doesn't have a beginning and an end?
Yeah, it's different. In television you don't really know where you're going to be in Episode 7. It keeps it fresh in the sense that you only know what your character is going to do that week, and you're not exactly sure how it will develop. It's kind of fun for me because sometimes I'll pick the writer's brain and what's going on with Coop for the season and they have a rough idea. They don't really like to tell us, but sometimes they'll spill some info — it's almost like going to a medium and they're telling you your future. But things can change. They'll throw you a curveball. It keeps you on your toes.
What do you hope the writers have in store for Dr. Coop when "Nurse Jackie" returns for a fourth season?
I've been begging them for a while to give him a mustache. Hopefully, the first episode he'll just walk in with a mustache. Bam!

Peter Facinelli's 'Nurse Jackie' character Dr. 'Coop' is a kid at heart
LOS ANGELES - Peter Facinelli stars as Dr. Fitch "Coop" Cooper on Showtime's "Nurse Jackie" - which ends its season Monday - as well as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the "Twilight" movies.

Peter hopes ‘Nurse Jackie’ doc never grows up
Peter Facinelli hopes his character never changes.
The actor plays the hilariously immature Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper on “Nurse Jackie” (season finale tonight at 10 on Showtime)
“I’m not sure if I want him to grow,” Facinelli told the Herald recently. “I like seeing the situations that he’s put in with the dysfunction that he has right now and the limited social skills that he has. If he grows up, then he won’t be as fun to watch.”
This season, Coop had a more serious story line when his two moms decided to divorce. “The energy shift was different,” he said. “Coop is usually very much riding on a 10-volt charge, running around like he had three cans of Red Bull. This season, there’s a couple episodes where he’s kind of like Eeyore from ‘Winnie-the-Pooh.’ I felt a little sad playing him that way. I was glad when he snapped out of it and started getting back to his old self.”
Showtime recently renewed “Nurse Jackie” for a fourth season.
Of the season finale, he said, “There’s quite a shocker of information that occurs. If there’s one episode not to miss, it’s definitely the last one. I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s definitely worth watching. For my character, his whole arc for the season comes to a head with his wedding plans and getting married. It’s the wedding of the century, people. You have to watch it.”
The actor, who is married to actress Jennie Garth (“Beverly Hills, 90210”), reprises his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1,” in theaters November.
“I’m really happy right now that people can take a look at two things I have going on simultaneously, and they’re 180 degrees away from each other,” he said. “Carlisle and Coop have one thing in common: They share the same occupation. I like when the characters are vastly different from each other because it excites me as an actor.”
The father of three is also writing and producing. His film “Accidentally in Love” starred Garth and aired earlier this year on the Hallmark Channel.
“As an actor, you’re really a cog in the wheel of a bigger machine, and you come and you do your part and you leave, and over 16 years I’ve realized you have very limited control,” he said. “I read scripts all the time, and a lot of them are being produced, and you’re like, ‘Why is this being made? I’ve seen this movie.’ Or, ‘This movie is not great. I don’t know why they are spending money on it.’ I started thinking about what kind of movies I would want to tell and then I started writing them.”

Peter talks 'Nurse Jackie'
But it's understandable given how quickly things are going downhill for the doc. And that rapid descent continues over the next few episodes according to Peter Facinelli. I caught up with the actor to talk about "Nurse Jackie's" sensational third season, what it's like to have Mike Dexter back in his life and why "Breaking Dawn: Part II" might not be the last you see of Carlisle Cullen!

Peter a 'whole different' Coop on 'Nurse Jackie,' 'magical' 'Breaking Dawn' wedding scene
by Sandra Gonzalez
Peter Facinelli sounded a little exhausted when EW chatted with him on the phone last week — as he well should be. The actor has been flying to and from the set of Breaking Dawn in Vancouver, where the cast is filming “second unit” scenes (like stunts). What gives him an energy boost? Talking about what’s next for Coop on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, following a big, life-changing moment for the doc on tonight’s episode. He explains (SPOILERS ahead):
