New Moon's Demetri, Charlie Bewley, tells us about each of the film's Volturi vampires and the actors taking on each role.
Daniel Cudmore, Felix
Bewley says: "Dan is really funny. He has this running monologue on life that he just mumbles s--t all day long. Dan’s a really cool guy; we get on really well. His character is ruthlessly efficient and strong. He’s an enforcer. I think we work really well together as Demetri and Felix."
Jamie Campbell Bower, Caius
Bewley says: "Jamie is a clown. He’s great. He’s massively funny as well. Very down to Earth, just a normal guy. He’s a very personable person. He really lights up a room. He plays guitar and everything. He’s just a really cool guy. I was surprised how tall he was. I always thought of him as this little kid. He’s really cool."
Cameron Bright, Alec
Bewley says: "Cameron. I was surprised that Cameron is such a little skater kid. Such a skater, thinks he’s so cool. He’s been doing this for a long time. And he’s just immensely down to Earth and very easy to talk to for a 16-year-old kid. I haven’t seen too much of his character yet. But with Jane and Alec, they’re both very still. In fact we’re all very still people ... I think it’s just a mood thing for scenes. We’re all very in control in our own separate ways. It wouldn’t look right if the Volturi were all just running around like idiots. Like headless chickens. Totally neurotic. We’re in control. We’re the mafia."
Dakota Fanning, Jane
Bewley says: "Dakota is wonderful. I love her to bits. She’s so cool. I can’t wait ‘til she turns 18. Her character is dangerous. She’s quite unnerving as a person. She’s very quiet, very quiet because she’s a very kind of centered person. She’s got red contact lenses on her eyes, which is very unnerving."
Christopher Heyerdahl, Marcus
Bewley says: "Very observant. Very cool guy. Just knows a lot of stuff. He’s been around. You sit around him and feed off him and soak him up. The way he talks as Marcus is so dead. His voice is so dead. He’s got this 3000-year-old voice, and he just wants to die. It’s addictive to listen to, how low he gets."
Michael Sheen, Aro
Bewley says: "His reputation precedes him. He’s done a lot of biopics … He’s a very good impersonator. Very good at putting himself in someone’s shoes … like Jamie Foxx did in Ray, he’s very good in those roles. As Aro, he’s delightfully charming but in the most evil subtext. He’s very dangerous, and very sinister. As a guy, I didn’t get to talk to him too much. He was only on set for two days."
