More than a body

Taylor Lautner worked hard to gain 30 pounds to keep the role of Jacob Black in New Moon.  But that is not the only thing Taylor wants his fans to think about.  If Taylor could have his way he wouldn't take his shirt off again in another movie. While he does have a nice set of abs, he is a good actor and has a bright future ahead of him.

Taylor Lautner says to fans: I'm more than 'just a body'

Taylor Lautner is telling his fans he's not just a sex symbol and wants to be known for his acting and not just his body.

In a recent interview, the 17-year-old Twilight hunk said, “I worked hard to get in shape for this role. My motivation was the movie and the fans but I don’t want to become known as just a body."

Lautner, who worked out hard in the gym seven days a week to pack on his ripped upper bod said he's now annoyed by the hoopla over his handsomeness and regrets taking his shirt off in the first place.

While co-stars Robert Pattinsonand Kristen Stewart have always stayed steady in keeping the press at bay (as much as possible), this is the first time Lautner's really admitted to wanting to control his image.

“If I had to choose, I would never take my shirt off again in a movie," he said.

Then adding, "But I guess that’s not very realistic. I certainly won’t be asking to do it though.”

Lautner recently beat out R.Patz in the third edition of the Twilightseries and Pattinson said he wasglad to let Taylor take the front seat.

"I'm more of a supporting role in this one," Rob said of the next movie. "Which is why I felt so free. I didn't have to deal with any of the bullsh-- of the first one. I don't have to hold the movie or worry about the fans. I think I did it better without all those pressures."

And ready or not, Lautner will have to harbor the fandom - Shirtless or not.
