Twilight won another award.  It won best/favorite soundtrack at the American Music Awards.

American Music Awards Nominees and Winners 2009

The 2009 American Music Awards are underway on ABC and the long list of nominees are turning out some not so surprising winners. The red carpet at the 37th annual AMA 2009 featured music stars like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Beyonce and more. The show opened with Janet Jackson singing a medley of her most popular songs.

The 2009 American Music Awards on November 22 is honoring artists in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational. For the third year in a row, winners were determined by online voting, which ended on November 13, 2009.

The three hour show is full of winning music artist and some of the American Music Awards 2009 winners have already received their awards on stage. Early winners include The Black Eyed Peas for best pop/rock band, duo or group, Rascal Flatts for best country band, duo or group and Green Day won for best alternative rock group.

Other winners mid-way through the AMA show included Keith Urban for favorite male country artist and Beyonce for favorite female soul/R&B artist. Michael Jackon won favorite male soul/R&B artist. Jermaine Jackson accepts, with his children on stage.
