'New Moon' vampires envy their 'True Blood' counterparts
The "Twilight" franchise has obviously made superstars out of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, but its also provided a huge career boost for some of the secondary characters, most notably, the actors who portray the Cullen family.
The "adopted" vampire clan of Edward (Pattinson), the Cullens include Carlisle (Peter Facinelli), his wife Esme (Elizabeth Reaser), Emmett (Kellan Lutz), Rosalie (Niki Reed), Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) and Alice (Ashley Greene) who becomes a trusted confidant of Bella (Stewart) throughout the series. These "good" vampires don't drink human blood (or try not to) and have integrated themselves into the human world to try and leave as normal lives as possible -- for immortals that is.
After the success of "Twilight" most of the Cullens have seen their acting careers take off. Lutz has a significant role in the upcoming "A Nightmare on Elm Street" reboot, Greene is about to topline "The Apparition," Facinelli appears on the hit Showtime series "Nurse Jackie" and will soon star in the ensemble comedy "Thicker." Plus, they still have New Moon" and next summer's "Eclipse" to boost their profiles.
With Rathbone mysteriously absent, the cast sat down to talk to HitFix last weekend about working with "New Moon's director Chris Weitz, how envious they are of their "True Blood" vampire brothers and sisters and how the fans are going to make or break whether "Breaking Dawn" gets made.
