'New Moon' Cast Weighs In: Who Is Film's Hottest Guy?
'I don't care to be the hot guy,' says Kellan Lutz. 'It's kind if nice floating under the radar.'
As you may have heard, there are several attractive young men in "New Moon." Not only does the flick star Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, but also Kellan Lutzand Jackson Rathbone.
But if you think that Lutz is competing with Pattinson and Lautner to win the title of "Hottest Twilight Hottie," then Twi-Hards, you are mistaken.
"I think we try and battle it for 'Here,you take the hot-guy card,' " Lutz joked to MTV News at the film's New York premiere on Thursday. "No, we don't care. I don't care to be the hot guy. It's kind if nice floating under the radar and having Rob and Taylor take all the pressure."
Another hot issue, of course, is Lautner's chiseled body. However, director Chris Weitz thinks it's time to move on. "It's not really about the abs," he said. "It's more about his performance. He really is a tremendously winning actor and the character that he portrays is much more important than his abdominals.'
Does this mean Lautner will be overtaking Pattinson in the hot stakes? "No, I don't think he's leaving Rob in the dust," Weitz continued. "Rob would love that! He would love to have his private life back. I don't think that — I think as big as Taylor's going to be will be adding and not subtracting from anything."
Pattinson's onscreen parents, Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser, have nothing but nice things to say about him. "Rob's a great guy — everybody loves Edward Cullen and thus everyone loves Rob," Facinelli said. "He's a talented actor. He's a good-looking kid and I'm happy for him."
Reaser jokingly added, "I think he does mean [I'm hot too]. I think that's exactly what that means! No, he's adopted. I get no credit for those genes, unfortunately."
