Winners and losers of 09

The Celeb winners and losers of 2009.  The best and the worst of 2009, and ROb is on the Winner list.

SHOCK splits, suprise wins and naughty allegations.

2009 definitely wasn't a year for the faint-hearted.
But as some choice celebs are hogging all the limelight right now, we thought we'd sum up the 10 winners and sinners for the whole year...
WINNER
Joe McElderry (and other X Factor Geordies)
CHERUBIC Joe has more to be smiling about than being hailed the new Cliff Richard.
Without a Shadow of a doubt the little fella with the great big grin will be laughing all the way back to South Shields, as he was crowned winner of X Factor 2009 this week.
And while our Cheryl might have ditched her trademark hair extensions and flunked in our Dannii v Cheryl fashion charts, we're sure her second successive victory as an X Factor mentoris enough to give brand Chezza a boost.
Joe is now the bookies' firm favourite to reach the No1 slot in the charts for Christmas - and all at just 18 years of age.
LOSER
Gordon Ramsay
MERRY Christmas and breast wishes to Gordon Ramsay.
After a year of tussling with the taxman, this chef certainly felt the heat when at one point four restaurants in his empire faced closure.
As his financial nightmare continued, it wasn't only Ramsay's kitchen that was getting a bit steamy.
It was alleged he had a seven-year affair behind wife Tana's back with blonde Sarah Symonds.
WINNER
Susan Boyle
IF you had asked us last year who SuBo was, we'd have probably guessed a new fangled form of Japanes wrestling.
But fast forward to April in 2009 and we reckon everyone from here to the South Pole has heard of The Hairy Angel that is Susan Boyle.
When the middle-aged spinster graced the stage on Britain's Got Talent, we didn't once imagine that by December she'd be selling over a million albums.
After having a TV show dedicated to her just this week, things look rosy.
Apart from a wee stint in rehab - which any celeb can handle - things can only get better.
LOSER
Tiger Woods
TIGER isn't out of the woods yet.
And for this pro golfer one drive certainly went wrong.
Crashing his car drove a wedge into his marriage and now linked to at least seven birdies, wife Elin Nordegren is no doubt turning a shade of green.
As advertisers axe Woods from their campaigns, Tiger might have to slice this year's Christmas budget.
WINNER
Russell Brand
BY October 2008, we thought Russell Brand's rise to fame was about to come to a short, sharp end.
But fast forward to 2009 and the long-haired joker seems to have wormed his way out of a very sticky situation and come out smelling like roses.
Brand did what any good star would do when faced with a publicity crisis - he bagged the hottest girl in pop.
Since they hooked up, we can't get enough of Russ and Katy - he's met the family and she's worn Brand's West Ham footie shirt.
LOSER
Chris Brown
IT'LL be lonely this Christmas for artist Chris Brown as his ex Rihanna hopes he hip hops away.
The R&B singer was not so entertaining following his arrest for assaulting the Umbrella performer in February.
As his album is blacklisted by many stores, it will take more than some mistletoe to keep shops stocking it this year.
WINNER
Robert Pattinson
LET'S face it. Even most men want a bite out of this fine specimen of a man.
Yup, 2009 was definitely the year of the vampire, thanks to smouldering hunk Robert Pattinson.
After Pattinson playing Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, based on Stephanie Meyer's bestselling novel of the same name, the movie and his perfectly chiseled face were all over the news.
And apart from earache from a few screaming girls, he has little else to worry about than whether he'll always be type cast at playing a bloodsucker.
LOSER
Katie Price
WHEN Katie and Peter announced their split in May many thought she was crackers to go for cage fighter Alex Reid.
The glamour model dumped the cross-dressing cage fighter when she left the I'm A Celebrity jungle last month.
But the pair were spotted together in The X Factor final audience, sparking rumours that their brief romance was back on.
As the couple prepare for their first Christmas together, boob job number six is at the top of Katie's list.
With Katie's hoping to renew her already ample trimmings lets hope the knife is kept safely away from Alex's ball balls.
WINNER
Jenson Button

HE may have missed out to Ryan Giggs winning the Sports Personality of the Year award, but we seriously think he's got little else to frown about.
The sportsman secured his maiden Formula One world championship for Brawn GP this year, earning him some serious respect and even more serious wedges of cash.
But to top it all off, he still has an absolutely gorgeous Jessica Michibata on his arm.
LOSER
Big Brother
CHRISTMAS is all about family but this is set to be one of the last that Big Brother attends.
After a decade of the reality show, the show's maker Endemol is cutting ties following falling ratings and forgettable winners.
With former housemate Kinga finding a novel use for a wine bottle, there will be one more opportunity for fans to pop a cork as the final Celebrity BB airs in January.
