Kristen's latest release is a Decent watch

'The Yellow Handkerchief' is a movie directed by Udayan Prasad. So what the film is about? The drama begins with Brett Hanson, who marching back home after six years of imprisonment, unsure about future prospects with his wife May. And this time to make sure that he does not get into anything wrong, which happens with him quite naturally by the way, he takes a ride with two troubled teenagers - Gordy and Martine.
Where on one hand, Gordy has run away from home because his family does not pay attention to his problems, on the other hand, Martine, a famous high school student has fled so that her parents will notice her absence. Thus the trio are almost sailing on the same boat of doubt and repentance. During the journey, Hanson ponders over his past mistakes and shows the audience through flashbacks how he won his wife besides an unsteady courtship.

As they proceed towards the Gulf coast, the story becomes manipulative but thanks to the phenomenal acting by Hurt, which makes it work. It is because of him that the flick is self-effacing. William Hurt has done justice to his role as Hanson by depicting lifetime’s worth of pain and regret which he carries with him. Similarly, May who is played by Maria Bello portrays just the right attitude and dignity  required.  Twilight star, Kristen Stewart has overawed by giving a spectacular performance as a mature and needy Martine. Well done K Stew. Although, Eddie Redmayne as Gordie is annoying to an extent.

Though Prasad has adapted Pete Hamill’s early 1970s short story to post-Katrina Louisiana, but instead of holding on to the distinctive local music he opted for a conventionally cinematic soundtrack, altogether making cinematographer Chris Menges work a bit dull.

Overall, it’s a good movie to watch as it showcases the human infirmity. So, go and catch Udayan Prasad’s ‘The Yellow Handkerchief’ for some captivating performances and for Kristen Stewart fans its a must who are going crazy with the recent Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart relationship disclosure. Robert Pattinson recently at the BAFTA awards told Sun tabloid of UK that he is in a relationship with Kristen Stewart after keeping their relationship under a wrap for long time. Good luck to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart both for each of their movies. Rob Pattinson's "Remember Me" releases March 12 in US. We will be back with more movie reviews in next edition.
