And by “it” I mean movie star, not a character from ‘The Addams Family’ although for a minute there, it seemed Robert Pattinsons’ hair would take over the globe with “its” fame.
Aside from the very obvious block-buster hits Edward, er, Robert is having with the ‘Twilight’ Saga, he seems eager to step out of the shadow of the character that has given him his teen cult fame, and further into roles that are heavier, deeper characters.
‘Remember Me’, Robert’s new film, with co-star Emille de Ravin, will premier in March, where he plays lead character, Tyler. In a video posted on the movies Facebook page, Robert discusses his character: Tyler had a certain “it” factor about him that he hadn’t seen in many other leading male roles in current films. “It seems like in a lot of ways main characters in other movies, when there is a young guy who is the lead he always seems like a vessel, [he] always [has] to be so naive and ridiculously innocent so the audience can feel that with [him] in the story,” he explained. “Tyler didn’t feel like that. He was a very specific character.”
The good news is, we get to see Robert in another film before ‘Eclipse’ comes out, the bad news is, he wont be doing much promotion in the U.S., because he is currently in Europe with Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, and Kristin Scott Thomas filming ‘Bel Ami’, the movie adaptation of French writer Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel. “He is in every scene of [Bel Ami], so he is getting out once to go to New York for the press junket premiere and talk shows,” ‘Remember Me’ reps say.
