Sex and the City meets Twilight

Sounds pretty good, love twilight and love sex and the city.
'Sex and the City' meets 'Twilight' in New Alicia Silverstone Flick
For those few of you left who are wondering what happened to actress Alicia Silverstone (Batman & Robin) — beyond her half-naked spread for PETA a few years back — the actress has signed on to reteam with her Clueless director Amy Heckerling for a new feature film entitled Vamps.

Written and to be directed by Heckerling — who shot to fame directing Fast Times at Ridgemont High for Universal, followed by the box office hits Look Who’s Talking, Look Who’s Talking Too and, of course, Clueless — Vamps tells the modern day tale of two beautiful young female vampires living the good nightlife in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality, according to the press release.

Silverstone will plays one of the female vampires, and joins Krysten Ritter, who is already aboard as the other lead vampire. For Ritter, it's her first feature film after being cast as the series lead in the Starz Network dark-comedy Gravity, currently in production in New York.

The release states that production is set to kick off April 2010. Vamps is being produced by Red Hour Films, who you may remember from Tropic Thunder, Blades of Glory and Dodgeball.

Perhaps it was just a matter of time before someone at a lunchtime Hollywood pitch meeting uttered the thought, "Hey, how 'bout Sex and the City with vampires?"

Hey, how 'bout it...? Peculiarly, it sounds just half-baked enough to actually seem like a cool idea to us.
