Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Anna Kendrick And More Bright Stars Cover Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue
Vanity Fair never ceases to amaze us with the awesome covers and cover stories they put together month to month, and the March issue is no different. Titled "A New Decade, A New Hollywood: Starring the Fresh Faces of 2010", VF brought together nine of our favorite young actresses for the feature. In fact, we couldn't have picked them better ourselves.
Two "Twilight" stars are on the list, not only for their roles in the hit teen vampire series but also because they can do so much more. VF gave 24-year-old Anna Kendrick a shout-out for her roles in "Up in the Air" and "Rocket Science," as well as for her Tony nomination at age 12 for "High Society." Kristen Stewart got props for "Welcome to the Rileys" and "The Runaways," as well as a shout-out to the 19-year-old's television-producer father and an Australian script-supervisor mother for getting her involved in the film industry.
A woman who also owes her current claim to fame to a vampire series ("True Blood"), 24-year-oldEvan Rachel Wood was recognized by VF for her roles starting in Catherine Hardwicke's "Thirteen" and ranging through "The Wrestler" to her upcoming role in the "Spider-Man" musical. Sitting next to her in the photos is zombie-killer and resident comedy hottie Emma Stone. From her memorable break-out role in "Superbad" to this year's "Zombieland," 21-year-old Emma has earned a special place in our hearts. Also the news that she convinced her parents to let her move to Hollywood with a PowerPoint presentation cements her value to society.
With "Dear John" coming out this Friday, it seems very timely that 24-year-old Amanda Seyfriedmade it to the list, but she started earning her spot as a Hollywood It-girl long before her starring roles this year. From starring next to Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams in "Mean Girls" through"Mamma Mia" to the upcoming "Letters to Juliet." VF promises a whole new perspective on Amanda's acting with the upcoming thriller (also out this month) "Chloe."
Compared to Amanda who has been a familiar face for a while, 24-year-old Carey Mulligan was a very, very welcome surprise with her charming role in "An Education." The film is sure to get her a best actress Oscar nod, if not a win (damn you, Sandra Bullock), and her upcoming role in Oliver Stone's "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps" should at least get her face out to a broader audience. Until then, we'll just watch her in her first ever film role as Kitty in "Pride & Prejudice"(the Kiera Knightly one).
Rounding out the list are "Bright Stars" Abbie Cornish, "Alice in Wonderland's" Mia Wasikowskaand "Frost/Nixon's" Rebecca Hall.
