Just how would Robert Pattinson look when he’s 93? You wouldn’t probably like to engage yourself in a guessing game and has already survived a shudder by the mere thought of it. After all who likes to imagine their youthly idols to grow old and wrinkly all over?
But that is the torment the casting director of “Water for Elephants” will have to brave if he loves his job. Work hazards, you say? We couldn’t agree more.
For the news is, Pattinson is going to portray the protagonist of the famous Sara Gruen historical novel and anyone familiar with the story would know that the story is based on an extended flashback when the 93-year-old war-hero starts reminiscing about his early youth, he being an early drop-out of the Cornell veterinary school and is about to join the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth during the 1930s Great Depression.
So hunt is on for an agedly avatar of Robert Pattinson.
Coming aboard with Pattinson is Christoph Waltz, of the Hans Landa fame from “Inglourious Basterds,” the role that has translated in a maiden Academy award for the consummate actor.
Waltz will be essaying the role of the off-the-hooks trainer whom Pattinson will encounter during his stint at the show.
The film is set to hit the floor on May 22 this year.
Let us just see if this film can bring a change in Rob’s fortune as the teen heartthrob has so far failed miserably to elevate any of his non-Twilight films into commercial successes. A recent case would be his film Remember Me which has miserably tanked at the box-office, grossing less than $14 million running into the third weekend.
