After years in development, the moment finally came this past weekend: the story of the Runaways was brought to big screen. Telling the story primarily of members Joan Jett, Cherie Currie as well as their strained relationship with manager Kim Fowley, The Runaways is a story that had to be told, a rock and roll story if there ever was one. To boot, it's got some pretty incredible teen talent: while people applauded the choice of Twilight Star Kristen Stewart to play Joan Jett, the big surprise comes from Dakota Fanning, knocking it out of the park as Cherie Currie in her most adult role to date. To help celebrate the release of the female rockers' biopic, we've got a pair of exclusive interviews for you.
In the first clip, we have Fanning and Stewart talking about a variety of subjects relating to the film, from the challenges of learning Runaways songs to the differences in teenage life today. As if that weren't enough, though, Kim Fowley also provides color commentary in a hilarious exclusive clip as well, revealing why he wasn't allowed on the set of the movie as well as musing on the influence the Runaways had on everyone from the Bangles to the Donnas.
