Robert Pattinson is the man of the moment. He’s talented, good-looking and has managed to maintain a sense of mystery, even though he is hounded by fans and paparazzi wherever he goes.
Speaking to the Scotsman, Rob insisted that keeping his private life as ‘private’ as possible is key to not only to maintaining his sanity, but also to keeping the fans interested in his movies.
He told the paper: "I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to not be seen. It's kind of annoying but the payoff is infinite.
"If no-one finds out where you're staying, if people aren't following you as soon as you leave your house, if people aren't waiting outside a restaurant if you have dinner there… then it's great. People coming up to you in the street – that's nice. But it's just when people know they can make money off your life, that's when it becomes difficult. They're relentless."
The heartthrob’s life is also under close scrutiny due to his relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart. The pair are rarely seen out as a couple and although Rob recently admitted they are ‘together’, he remains tight lipped about any details of their romance, cleverly avoiding any obvious public displays of affection. This serves to heighten the interest in their lives, with some organisations offering large sums of money to any fan who can capture a snap of Kris and Robert together.
Rob, seemingly wise beyond his years, added: "When the spotlight seems to be quite centred on you, the best thing I think is to remain as much of a mystery as you can… If you're seen all the time and if your opinions are all over the place, no-one wants to see your movies."
This is unlikely to ever be the case for Pattinson as Twilight continues to cause hysteria around the globe and Twi-Hards are set to reach fever pitch when the next instalment in the saga, Eclipse, is released on July 9.
