Michael Sheen and other British celebrity soccer players including acclaimed chef Gordon Ramsey, ex footballer Vinnie Jones, actor Lennie James, will team up with former pros Warren Barton (England, Newcastle & Fox Soccer Channel host) Barry Venison (former player for Newcastle, Liverpool, England), to take on celebrities “from the rest of the world” including Chile’s Santiago Cabrera (HEROES), the former U.S. World Cup stars’ Cobi Jones & Alexi Lalas (former LA Galaxy players), Venezuelan star Fernando Carillo and Jamaica’s Rohan Marley (Former Pro Footballer).
BritWeek events cover a wide range of activities representing British connections with California. British music, comedy, film, fashion, food, luxury goods, sports and science are all celebrated and profiled and numerous British companies participate as sponsors.
Britweek 2010 officially kicks off with the celebrity soccer game ‘Britian vs Rest of the World’ at the Home Depot Centre on Saturday, April 17th.
