COSTUME INSTITUTE GALA 2010
See all the red carpet arrivals at this year's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala
KRISTEN STEWART
Twilight starlet Kristen Stewart made her Costume Institute Gala debut at this year’s event, and had the honour of doing so decked out in Chanel, no less. With every A-lister in town probably clamouring to wear one of Karl Lagerfeld’s delectable designs, the pairing says a lot for K-Stew’s rising star style status. The actress teamed her sheer-skirted strapless frock with matching Sergio Rossi peep-toe heels, goth-glam black nails and a quilted Chanel clutch - and styled her rock-chick locks into a sweeping Marcel wave ‘do.
TAYLOR SWIFT
She may have been one of the MET ball's youngest attendees at just 20-years-old, but Taylor Swift displayed elegance way beyond her meagre age in an ethereal Ralph Lauren Collection gown. She kept the outfit from looking too bridal by completing her style with a smouldering red pout.
EMILIE DE RAVIN
Any A-lister worth their style salt has stepped out in a nude-hue over recent months, and Emilie de Ravin followed suit at this year’s Costume Institute gala. The Remember Me actress showcased this pretty ruffle-hemmed Valentino mini, teamed with matching rosette-detail heels, a floral appliqué clutch and glam statement necklace.
ABBIE CORNISH, MAGGIE GRACE, CAREY MULLIGAN AND EMILIE DE RAVIN
Once the grand walk up the stairs was over, and the stars were safely inside, they could start to relax and enjoy the evening’s proceedings. This quartet of blonde beauties - Abbie Cornish, Maggie Grace, Carey Mulligan and Emilie de Ravin - posed for a group photo inside, and were all smiles for the camera.
