Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart: MTV Award Veterans
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner have been announced as presenters at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse trio will introduce a new, exclusive clip from their upcoming movie on Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
According to the MTV website, in a mere two years Pattinson and Stewart have already become MTV award show veterans. They, along with Twilight’s Cam Gigandet (the tracker vampire out to get Bella Swan), were present at the MTV Movie Awards in 2008 to introduce an exclusive Twilight clip on MTV’s preshow.
Pattinson, Stewart, and Gigandet were joined by Taylor Lautner at the MTV Video Music Awards three months later. The quartet was there to introduce the Twilight soundtrack band Paramore. According to Kara Warner’s report, "twilighters were furious with host Russell Brand for allegedly cutting Pattinson off before he finished his line in the introduction."
At the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, Twilight won five awards, including Best Movie. Stewart, Pattinson, and Lautner took the stage to introduce the first The Twilight Saga: New Moon teaser trailer, which featured both Pattinson and Lautner (but not Stewart) shirtless.
At the 2009 Video Music Awards, Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner returned to present the final New Moon trailer.
All three performers are up for a few MTV Movie Awards this year, including best performance by an actor/actress, best kiss, and global superstar.
