July 1st - 21st. - On August 28th, 2010 friends of Spencer Bell will come together in Detroit to celebrate the life of a musician, a brother, a son, a friend, and an inspiration. People will be traveling from all over the globe to attend this sold out event. That's right, tickets are SOLD OUT. But, we have an extra set on hand! And, because we know how expensive it can get to travel from so far and wide, we'd like to help out with these expenses! There is a catch, of course...
We're asking YOU to record a cover of a Spencer Bell song! Yep, cover a Spencer Bell song, any one of them (no Stevedores' songs though), any way you like it, and send it to us along with the application form and a $10 entry fee. All entries will be judged by a special guest panel (you may recognize a few of the names.) In addition to tickets to both the afternoon and evening shows, the winner will receive a $300 voucher to use toward travel expenses for the Michigan Legacy Concert. Additionally, the song will premiere on AOD radio prior to August 28th, and the winner will get a chance to perform their cover on stage during the afternoon show! The runner up will receive tickets to the afternoon show, and they too may be able to perform their cover as well!
If winner already has tickets, a special prize will be substituted.
Contest Open: July 1st to July 21st, 2010
File format: WAV (MP3 and aiff also accepted. Email for approval of other file types.)
Entry fee: $10 (payable by check to ASCC Now; we're working on a Paypal link for credit cards.)
Prize: 1st Place - Tickets to afternoon & evening shows, $300 travel voucher, and a chance to play on stage in August.
2nd Place - Ticket to afternoon show and a possibly a chance to perform on stage.
