Glamour Awards: Cheryl Cole named Woman of the Year
Cheryl Cole was crowned Woman of the Year at the Glamour Awards, after 12 months which have seen her become the nation's sweetheart and dump a cheating husband.
The singer and X Factor judge received the top honour at the ceremony. Her estranged husband, Ashley Cole, is in South Africa as part of England's World Cup squad. She announced divorce proceedings last month.
Christine Bleakley, the One Show host at the centre of a tug of war between BBC and ITV, won Presenter of the Year.
Lily Allen, in the news for claiming that the Brit Awards are fixed, was named Solo Artist of the Year
Billie Piper won UK TV Actress of the Year, while the US version went to Glee star Lea Michele. Film Actress of the Year was Avatar's Zoe Saldana.
A heavily pregnant Sam Taylor-Wood and her partner, Aaron Johnson, took home two awards between them. She won Film-Maker of the Year for directing the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy, while Johnson, 19, won Man of the Year.
There were also prizes for Fearne Cotton (Radio Personality of the Year), X Factor winner Alexandra Burke (Newcomer of the Year) and Dannii Minogue (TV Personality of the Year). Minogue is in Australia preparing for the birth of her first baby, and sent her acceptance speech via video.
Fashion awards went to Mulberry's Emma Hill (Accessory Designer of the Year) and Nicole Richie (Entrepreneur of the Year).
Anna Kendrick, the Oscar-nominated star of Up In The Air, won the Editor's Special Award.
The award for Outstanding Contribution went to Yoko Ono. The ceremony was held in London's Berkeley Square.
