Bravo.de Interview with Kellan – Translation

Bravo.de got the chance to interview Kellan when he was in germany. Huge thanks to Franzi for translating the interview for us. Full interview after the cut.
Monique wanted to know: Which scene was the hardest one for you?
Kellan: The hardest scene was the one I’m falling into the water. You’re trying, to act like a vampire, but vampires don’t breath, they don’t hyperventilate, they’re already cold as ice. So you’re not allowed to look like you’re cold. And this river was extremely cold! And I was wet all over, and it was raining and I was gasping, and David Slade said: “Act like you’re angry at the wolf.” So I did that, but it was really hard, continue to play the vampire, if you’re not allowed to show human feelings.
Dany wanted to know: Was there a scene you had to repeat often?
Kellan: It’s difficult to shoot an epic fight, as it was with the battle scene at the end of the movie. This was a huge thing and we, the Cullens, are all in and are fighting together with the werewolves, what makes the whole thing harder, too, because you’re not really fighting with the werewolves, but with those cardboard figures. It was really hard; we had six weeks fight-training, so that we don’t blow it up, when we’re shooting the scene in the end. Many people are fighting there at the same time, about 30, so everything has to fit. You mustn’t blow it up, because then we have to shoot it again.

Jaleesa wanted to know: Which Part to shoot did you like the most?
Kellan: I like “Eclipse” the most. When I got the role for the “Twilight”-Saga, I didn’t know how it would develop. The fans are amazing. And I fell in love with my role, because Emmett is happy, and I’m happy, too! And he likes to joust and he’s always ready for a joke, that’s why I like him. When I started with “Twilight”, I noticed, that it’s a series, so I read all the books. I thought “New Moon” was for girls. But I liked “Eclipse”, because there’s much action in it, and it fascinated me. So I hoped, we’re going to shoot all the movies. While we were shooting “New Moon” they said us that we’re also going to do “Eclipse”. And I was really happy about that, because that’s more my genre of movies. There’s finally something more for guys! But anyhow the romantic didn’t come to short. But now the guys can say: “That was cool!”

Johanna wanted to know: Are you Team Jacob or Team Edward in “Eclipse”?

Kellan: I’m Team Emmett! But there isn’t a real Team Emmett. When it’s about the two, I’m neutral, I think I’m Switzerland. But I’m the type of not giving up, so I’m a little bit like Jacob, who wants something he cannot get. He’s not giving up, he’s a fighter. But I think it’s important to be chivalric and a little bit antiquated and to cover a girl like a princess.
BRAVO.de: But there are many girls Team Emmett!
Kellan: That’s cute! The fans are awesome. I just met so many fans all over the world, that’s really fascinating. I’m really happy about that!
Gül wanted to know: What was your most awkward moment on set?
Kellan: In the middle of the movie there’s a scene in which Jasper is teaching us how to fight the newborns. So we had fight training and rehearsals, and there was a scene in which I was lifting my arm and punched accidentally Jackson’s head. I wasn’t his mistake by not cowering, I just beat too low. I saw this coming and I also tried to stop, but I hit him and they brought him to the hospital. He had a concussion and he felt dizzy, but he came back, he’s a fighter. I felt so bad.
BRAVO.de: Was he mad at you?
Kellan: No, he wasn’t mad at me in any way, it was just an accident. He’s a tough kid. And he’s funny. We had fight training and he was running with his cowboy-boots on the treadmill. Jackson and I had much fun on the set; but much more beyond it. We both are a great team, real troublemakers, we had a great time.
Sarah wanted to know: With which person are you getting on the best?
Kellan: Ashley Greene is my best friend. And with the guys – Jackson and I know each other very good, our parents are good close friends. I think I’m coming out with him and Peter Facinelli the best. Rob ist super, too, but he always has to work. We’re not hanging out with the werewolves very often. They are great, Taylor is great, but if you don’t have many scenes together, you don’t get to know each other. That’s why so many things are connecting me to my family, the Cullens.
BRAVO.de: Peter Facinelli is definitely funny!
Kellan: He’s amazing! We practice together; we’re doing yoga, what’s pretty funny, because I have to do yoga. I’m not good, but with him it’s very funny, cause he’s joking often or helping me with doing my handstand.
Julia wanted to know: Which music are you listening to on your breaks?
Kellan: That depends on what I’m doing. If I’m training, I like fast music. If I’m shooting a tragic movie – Citizen Cope have many good beats and rhythms. Temper Trap are awesome, Death Cab For Cutie, Muse are always great. For me the beats are counting and the music. I was in Montréal for “Immortals” and there I was working with so many people from all over the world, which are listening to so different music. Luke Evans auditioned me so much music and Isabel Lucas was introducing me to great music from Island and Switzerland. That’s really cool, I cannot understand the language, but the rhythm is wonderful and I can imagine a text by myself. If you’re training, you’re at the set or in the nature and turn on this music, but understand nothing, and then you’re in another world.
BRAVO.de: Do you know some German music?
Kellan: No, unfortunately not.
Anisa wanted to know: Do you like your hair blonde or brown?
Kellan: I don’t really know, what my hair actual color is. At the beginning they were bright blonde, or a little bit reddish blonde, but for all the movies I colored them, and it’s hard to undo it. I like it the best, if I’m shaven-headed, that’s just uncomplicated. I love it to swim and in the pool it’s just cool. I really would like to shave them, because I want to know which color they are, if bright brown or dark blonde. If I’m not tanned – I’m playing a vamp and should not be tanned – I like it darker, because it’s a nice contrast. But when I’m allowed to get tanned, I like blonde.
Sinem wanted to know: How should your perfect woman look like?
Kellan: Your look is always opening the door. People are always attracted by the outer appearance, because that’s what they see the first. For me is a woman with self-confidence very important, she should feel good, in what she’s wearing, she should be happy with herself. I love it if girls just can be their selves, and if they’re authentic, if you’re asking them something. I like girls who enjoy playing board games, who like challenges, who like to have fun, but also want to win! I love self-confident and charismatic, funny and a little bit clumsy girls. I like it, if a girl knows something about technique, how to handle a computer, knows, how to book a flight or tickets. And I like girls, who can just relax, easy going girls and not need about two hours to get ready to go out. Somebody who likes to be inside and outside, who likes to go camping, a little wild child; from everything a little bit. I love self-confident and authentic girls.
