Buzz's Picks For Fall Movies: Part Two
Now that I've taken you through the first batch of movies that come in Fall's harvest, here are the films that round out my must-see list. These are the movies that will take us right into the holidays, which means plenty of potential Oscar bait. From Depp to Portman and beyond, take a look at the films that will be all over box office news in just a few weeks.
Burlesque
Meet your guilty pleasure pick of the Fall season:Burlesque. Christina Aguilera makes her film debut in this modern musical, playing a small-town girl who travels to LA with showbiz aspirations. She lands at a burlesque club, in the hopes of becoming one of the lead performers — if only the owner (Cher!) would give her a shot. Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, and Eric Dane also round out the unusual ensemble. We know the film is definitely flashy, but will it be any good? Everyone's going to be talking about it for better or worse, so see what the fuss is about on Nov. 24.
TRON: Legacy
It's been 28 years since the original TRON came out, but it's back with a sequel packing new effects and original star Jeff Bridges as Flynn. Garrett Hedlund plays his son, who's trying to rescue Flynn from the alternate reality (and evil avatar) he created. Of course, the fast-paced sci-fi flick will be in 3D and, from the looks of things, pretty mind-blowing. Gear up for the movie on Dec. 17.
