Two Indians Talking coming to Vancouver International Film Festival
Former Douglas College theatre student Sara McIntyre's film Two Indians Talking will premiere Oct. 6 as part of the Vancouver International Film Festival.
Starring an all-First Nations cast, the film tells the story of a young man who travels to seek education and to experience the broader world. He eventually returns home and faces the challenge of integrating his new perspectives with his family and traditional ways.
The all-First Nations cast includes Nathaniel Arcand, an actor in the North of 60 and Heartland television shows, Vancouver-based Justin Rain, who played the Quileute Warrior in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie, plus Carmen Moore from the Godiva's and Andromeda TV series.
Two Indians Talking is billed as a humorous, uncensored conversation between two First Nation men who are about to take part in their community’s roadblock. Each man wants fiercely to do the right thing, but struggles with the question, “When you do something for the right reasons, does that make it the right thing to do?”
The film will be shown Wednesday, Oct. 6 starting at 9:15 p.m. at the Empire Granville 7 Theatre and Friday, Oct. 8 at the Empire Granville 7 for a 12:30 p.m. showing.
