Based on the best-selling novel by Sara Gruen, Water for Elephants stars Robert Pattinson as Jacob Jankowski, a man studying to be a vet when his parents' sudden death leaves him lost and directionless. Jumping a train that turns out to be part of a travelling circus, Jacob embarks on a journey that proves to change his life, especially meeting and falling for the beguiling Marlena (Reese Witherspoon) who shares his affection despite being married to the abusive ringmaster August (Christoph Waltz). Stepping out from the young adult genre that made him a household name, Pattinson takes on this 1930's-set tale of love, loss and risk directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) and shares the screen with two Oscar winners.
