Meet Dutchess, a real-life wolf from 'Breaking Dawn'

You might think it's all CGI when it comes to the Twilight Saga's wolfpack, but real-life wolves definitely play a part in making movie magic with this series. A review of any of the behind-the-scenes featurettes centered on the same would reveal that the visual effects team definitely looks to and works with actual wolves to get the look of the creatures on point.  Dutchess, the wolf featured in the attached video, is one such.
Dutchess, a real-life wolf from 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1'She appeared on Good Morning San Diego with her caretakers to promote an animal fair project over the weekend which she also participated in.
As you can see from the video, she most resembles the "Sam Wolf" character, as her fur is mostly black.
It's also interesting to note how the humans involved in this video had to sit low to keep her comfortable with them. It must've been mighty interesting for the production crew on Breaking Dawn - Part 1 to work with these creatures.
Do you think she looks like "Sam Wolf" as well? If so, I'll bet they had her growling a time or two to get the effect; that must've been pretty frightening.

Note: While on the subject of real-life wolves, it should be mentioned that a few Twilight Saga fans in Naples, Florida have put together a benefit project for the Shy Wolf Sanctuary in that area. You can find out more about their work and how to participate here.
