Tinsel Korey gives back
The Quileute Nation from La Push, Washington will soon be getting even more Twilight Saga star power as New Moon actress, Tinsel Korey will be making her way to the Twilight town to share her New Moon acting skills with the La Push youth to give back to Native American kids of the real Twilight Saga town. The Twilight Saga has given a slew of young actors opportunities for the future and New Moon actress Tinsel Korey is revelling in her recent Twilight success.
Korey was cast as Emily in New Moon and will be expanding upon her Twilight Saga sequel role in the Twilight Saga Eclipse, which is currently in production in Vancouver. On September 8, Tinsel Korey went to La Push to work with youth in, "conducting acting workshops at the Tribal School for ages 4-25," according to a Twilight Saga related press release.
The Twilight Saga, starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner generated global Twilight interest in La Push when Twilight Saga author, Stephanie Meyer based the Twilight characters of Jacob Black and his family and friends in the La Push area. Beyond New Moon, the Quileute tribe has a rich history of legends with spiritual ties of werewolf origin, which fit perfectly into the Twilight Saga novels. During the search for Quileute tribe members in New Moon and Eclipse, the Twilight casting team insisted that every hopeful Twilight actor prove their Native American lineage.
Although New Moon actress Tinsel Korey has been acting for the last six years, with spots on shows like Tru Calling and The Guard, New Moon is the biggest project to date for Korey, which will undoubtedly give the young Twilight actress more opportunities in the future thanks to the popularity of the Twilight Saga. A talented singer-songwriter beyond New Moon, Korey is a role model not only to children but to other Twilight actors who should be giving back to the local communities.
Does that mean Robert Pattinson will be working at a soup kitchen anytime soon? We doubt it, but the other Twilight Saga cast members should be taking notes from Tinsel Korey as they learn a thing or two about what it means to share the Twilight Saga wealth, especially when the resulting impact on Twilight youth can be a lasting lesson from a rising New Moon star.
