Michael is most know for his role as Bella's friend and suitor Mike Newton in Twilight, Twilight Saga: New Moon (opening November 20) and Twilight Saga: Eclipse (filming now). Michael was the one who came up with the bush dance behind Bella in Twilight at the diner.
Other than his role in the Twilight Saga, Mike has been in many projects. Some include Joan of Archadia, Star Trek: Insurrection, The Grind, Day of the Dead and American Adventure. He even won 2 Young Artist Awards, one for Star Trek and the other for Joan of Archadia. Along with his big roles, he has had guest spots on TV shows such as 7th Heaven, Law & Order: SUV, CSI, Touched by an Angel, Malcolm in the Middle and many more.
His future projects other than the Twilight Saga include Unrequited, Rough Hustle and Lost Dream.

Michael is like most of the other cast and is a musician. He is a skilled drummer and is in a band with another actor Joey Zimmerman.Michael also tries to go to as many Twi Tours that fit into his schedule. Footage from the last one in Chicago shows him climbing all the furniture and sitting on it in different positions.
