Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, actors in the movie New Moon, held a press conference on Sunday, at the Hotel Grand Hyatt in Sao Paulo. Outside the site, hundreds of fans flocked in hopes of seeing the stars of the sequel of the blockbuster Twilight.
Very likeable, Taylor was not surprised by the amount of people at the hotel door, “Our fans are very passionate about Twilight, anywhere we go there’s least 200 of them spent the night here in front. It’s amazing to have that support.
Still on the euphoria of the fans, Kristen recalled that the first time she had the opportunity to have contact with fans of Twilight, which was at Comic-Con, the biggest event of comic books and pop culture in the world, held in San Diego, USA, in July, when the first scenes of New Moon were revealed to the public and the press, “They were the first scenes and we were very eager to show our work to the public, we were excited. Being able to see that reaction closely was great.”
The pair arrived in Sao Paulo on Saturday (31) and was received by many fans in the lobby of the airport, causing uproar and confusion. The actress, who plays Bella, sees the latest production with a more commercial appeal and concedes that further increases the effects. “We had more resources, but the dedication and loyalty to that love story is the same,” she said.

The actors talked about their favorite scenes. Between smiles and glances of complicity, Lautner says he likes a lot of action scenes, and changed his mind several times beforechoosing his favorite. “I think the best scenet, is the scene in the bedroom. Bella and Jacob fight and soon after they make up. It’s our longest scene together. And he’s scantily clad,” says good-humored. Kristen prefer the part where she tries to stop Edward die for it.
Since Saturday in Brazil, the pair spent much time in the hotel room, not having an exact notion of what was happening outside. A crowd had gathered in the parking lot and the door was isolated with a metal fence. Still, attempts of “invasion” occurred, and the Military Police had to be thrown. Some, more lucky, they were able to stay there and got pictures, despite the security guards.
The turmoil is not unique to Sao Paulo. Accustomed to harassment, Kristen and Taylor said they’ve had the same reaction in other places. “The saga arouses passion. Here and in California, we always have hundreds of fans waiting for us,” Taylor said. Kristen remembers the Comi-con, held in San Diego. “People have very passionate reactions it. It was very nice to see the reaction of people when the first pictures of the footage were released,” reports. The actress praised the Brazilian fans. “They are ridiculously cool. Very gentle and friendly,” she said smiling.
About what they saw in Brazil, the actors can only praise. “We seem too ignorant, but we did not expect to see a city this big,” Kristen admits the end of the conference. Even with the rush, they did not exempt the dinner at a steakhouse. “I am pleased to have known the real Brazilian barbecue,” said Lautner. To the fans, we are left waiting for another 20 days. And no point in getting too excited about the appearance of actors out there. The pair still travels to Mexico, and must leave the hotel by helicopter.
