Christina Perri's Dream Of Collaborating With “Amazing” Musician Rob Pattinson

We’re loving the Breaking Dawn soundtrack and were really excited to chat with the musicians featured on the album at the premiere last week. So many interesting, unique artists who were mostly unknowns before their songs were chosen got to go watch their music play in a blockbuster film. How surreal! We were lucky enough to speak with Christina Perri (a major Twilight fangirl), Imperial Mammoth, Sleeping at Last (OMG that song! Tears) and Cider Sky and asked them all if they’d ever consider collaborating with another Twilight musician — actor Rob Pattinson. They were all, obviously, gung-ho and complimented his talent as a singer-songwriter and musician.
“He’s an incredible singer and guitar player,” Perri said. When asked if she’d love to work with him she replied, “I would be so down.” So would every other artist we talked to. Check out their Rob love in the clip above.

Christina Perri thanks 'Breaking Dawn' for 'one of the best weeks'

zap-photo-christina-perri-red-carpet-420.jpgChristina Perri is thanking Team Edward and Team Jacob for what she terms "one of the best weeks of my whole life."

The singer and co-writer of last year's hit "Jar of Hearts" is heard prominently in the movie "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" performing "A Thousand Years," the new love theme of Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart). Calling herself "the poster child for a Twi-hard," franchise fan Perri was one of the first to see the movie -- performing strongly, not surprisingly, on its opening day (Friday, Nov. 18) -- when she was being considered for its soundtrack.

"I couldn't tell anybody ... it was so awful," Perri recalls to Zap2it. "It seemed everybody else who came to the screening looked a little bored, or maybe they just weren't as Twi-hardy as me. They were reading their BlackBerrys and just looking like they wanted to be somewhere else, and I was sitting in the front row crying and having the best time of my life."

Perri says a lot of security went with the privilege. "I had to sign so much stuff, then I got afraid that there were satellites in the sky that would hear me if I mentioned anything about it out loud! I didn't say a word about it to anybody until the official announcement was made; not my family, not my friends. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to stop. I'm a gusher."

Adding that "my heart's just bursting," Perri has had the kind of access any "Twilight" devotee dreams of. "I did the whole promotional tour with the cast before the L.A. premiere, so I was flying around in a private jet with the vampires. It was just so much fun.

"There were moments where I was really trying to breathe normally. I had my geeky little fan moments, then others when I felt I deserved to be there, and then the 'OMG!' moments again. It was a wide range of emotions for me, and now, I can't believe I can say I'm friends with these guys. We all bonded."

"A Thousand Years" soon will serve Perri in another way: She'll perform it on the 13th annual edition of CBS' "A Home for the Holidays" adoption-advocacy special, which Martina McBride will host Wednesday, Dec. 21. And Perri is all but certain to sing it again as a guest on ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest" Saturday, Dec. 31.

Another bonus of Perri's "Breaking Dawn" involvement is a concert tour she'll begin early in the new year, taking her first to the United Kingdom, Australia and Asia before she starts the U.S. leg toward spring.

"My album ['lovestrong'] just went gold in the U.K.," she reports, "so there was movement happening before this, but I feel catapulted to a new level. The exposure is the biggest thing to come from this, but ultimately, it still comes down to doing good songs and working hard."

MTV: 'Breaking Dawn' 'Blew My Mind,' Christina Perri Says

One of the perks of being asked to contribute to a soundtrack includes seeing the flick long before anyone else. For self-proclaimed Twilighter Christina Perri, getting a first look at "Breaking Dawn- Part 1" before it opens November 18 was a pretty big deal.

"When I screened the movie, it was definitely one of my favorite days ever," she told MTV News on the set of the video for her "Breaking Dawn" track, "A Thousand Years." "I went with all these Hollywood people, and they were there for work, and I was there for work to get inspired to write a song, but I was an über-fan, like, sitting in the front crying. And I had the best time ever."
So did the film live up to all her expectations? "The movie was unbelievable!" she gushed. "It's my favorite now, so I definitely had the best time ever. [It's my] favorite of the whole series. It definitely blew my mind, and I will say, I can't say anything about it, [but] I will say that if you're a 'Twilight' fan, you will be very happy, 'cause it was my favorite one."
Perri notes that previously revealed plot points, like the wedding, honeymoon and birth scene, live up to the hype. "I think the fans are most excited about the wedding, the sex scene and then the baby, but they're the three best parts of the book," she said. "But everyone's going to be really happy. I don't know how I kept this all a secret. I respect the privacy of the gigantic franchise. Why would you want to give it away?"
Perri is one of many artists who appear on the soundtrack, including Theophilus London, the Joy Formidable and Bruno Mars. The album hits stores November 8, just 10 days before the Bill Condon-directed "Breaking Dawn" opens November 18. A video for Mars' track, "It Will Rain," is slated to drop "in a couple weeks," as Mars alerted fans earlier this week. The last part of the "Twilight Saga," "Breaking Dawn - Part 2," opens November 2012.

Kristen: 'Edward thinks Bella's baby is 'Satan's spawn''

IMAGE: Twilight“Twilight” fans  it’s almost here!
With less than one month until “Breaking Dawn — Part 1” hits theaters on Nov. 18, Access Hollywood has three new exclusive features from the set!

In the first, Access goes behind the scenes with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as they talk about filming the highly anticipated wedding & honeymoon scenes!
“It’s just a relatively momentous moment for the series. It’s been building up and building up — I think Edward has proposed to her about 50 times by now,” Pattinson says in the behind-the-scenes interview. “It’ll be quite nice — at least he doesn’t have to propose anymore!”
“Bella is absolutely certain that she wants to spend forever with Edward but there’s just something with marriage that she’s apprehensive about,” Stewart explained of her character. “There are a few beats right before the wedding actually occurs… there are a few looks from Edward that are kind of unclear to her."
As for the honeymoon, which features the now-infamous headboard-breaking sex scene, Robert explained that things quickly take a dramatic turn.
“It starts off quite nice and just gets progressively worse,” he laughed.
Indeed, the honeymoon gets cut short when Bella finds out she’s pregnant.
“Bella obviously wants to have the baby and Edward is just terrified of it and thinks it will destroy her and thinks that she’s ridiculous for thinking she’s strong enough to have a vampire baby. He thinks it’s just like Satan’s spawn, because that’s how he feels about himself,” Stewart explained of the dramatic revelation.

In the second exclusive, Taylor Lautner sits down to talk about the evolution of his character, Jacob Black, and also reveals what he thinks the fans will love most about the final chapters in the film saga.
“Towards the beginning of the movie, he’s still the same Jacob he always has been. He’s jealous. He’s still in to Bella and he’s hot-headed. Throughout the movie, he matures a ton,” Lautner explained of his werewolf character.
“I think the most exciting thing [fans] can expect from ‘Breaking Dawn’ is seeing all of the characters in a different light. All of the characters change so much from the beginning of the movie until the end,” he revealed. “I think it’s going to be really exciting to see.”

Finally, singer Christina Perri — a self-proclaimed Twi-hard who lends her voice to the film’s soundtrack — sits down to talk about writing the official love song for Edward and Bella, “A Thousand Years,” and the special connection it has to the film.
“I actually recorded the song on August 13, which is when Edward and Bella get married in the story, so it’s pretty magical,” she revealed.
As for the song, Perri said it’s a track she’s extremely “proud” of.
“It’s classical and it’s really romantic and it’s really pretty and simple. It’s probably the simplest song I have and one of the prettiest that I’ve ever written,” Perri says.

'Twilight' Fan Christina Perri Pens 'A Love Song To Edward And Bella'

Admitted 'Twi-Hard' is 'unbelievably honored' that 'A Thousand Years' made the 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' soundtrack.

For any artist, getting a song on a "Twilight" soundtrack is a pretty big deal. But for Christina Perri, whose "A Thousand Years" made the cut for the upcoming "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" album, well, "pretty big deal" is an understatement.
Perri is — to put it mildly — rather obsessed with the series, as she told MTV News on Tuesday (September 27).
"Yes, I am 1,000 percent a 'Twilight' fan. I can't even deny that I am actually, in fact, a Twi-Hard and have a 'Twilight' tattoo," she laughed, also revealing that she's Team Edward. "I got a tattoo on my wrist that says 'bitten,' and it's written in the font of all the book titles. So, yes, I am of one the big, geeky fans."
For Perri, who already found success with her hit "Jar of Hearts," landing "Breaking Dawn" was a career-defining moment, not to mention a dream come true. Especially since, until the final track list was revealed Monday, she had no idea if her song made the cut.
"I'll never forget going to the screening of the movie. But, for me, having this opportunity is also such a wild card, because it's Hollywood, and you never really know. ... I wasn't even sure I was going to be on it until yesterday, when I saw it in print," she laughed. "So I tried not to get hyped out, because it's one of my favorite movies, one of my favorite books, one of my favorite soundtracks, and that could potentially freak out the little songwriter in me.
"So I tried to put that aside and take it one step at a time, went to see the movie and cried like a baby, because it's so good, and I felt so lucky to be there," she continued. "And then went home and wrote a love song to Edward and Bella ... and to have it be chosen, I'm unbelievably honored."
She wrote that love song based less on the screening she attended ("It wasn't finished," Perri said. "But I still cried. Seriously, that's how good it is") and more on the emotions she felt reading Stephenie Meyer's series ... in particular, the star-crossed love affair between Edward and Bella.
"When we went to watch the screening, they told us to see where there was temporary music added and just jump into those scenes a little harder," she explained. "But I'm fortunately a fan of the movie and the characters, and I feel like, by reading these books, I can step into that feeling that Edward and Bella have for each other. So [songwriter] David Hodges and I sat down, and it just came out in one afternoon. I feel like it was all meant to happen; I feel like it was all waiting inside me, waiting to come out."

While she doesn't know where "A Thousand Years" will be used in "Breaking Dawn," Perri said it's not all that important to her. She's just counting down the days until the film's premiere, when, finally, she'll get to hear her song on the big screen. And after that, all bets are off.
"For me, personally, this is one of my dreams coming true. And the fact that it's on the soundtrack, I'm seeing it, but I'm not sure I'm quite believing it," she said. "I have a feeling when I'm sitting in the theater with the cast, and the movie comes on and my song happens, that I'm probably at that moment either going to combust with excitement or finally believe it and probably cry a little."
