Jodellle Ferland Joins Anna Kendrick for a New Movie
Jon Brion to Score Focus' Animated Film 'ParaNorman'
Tucker Albrizzi, Alex Borstein and Jodelle Ferland have also joined the voice cast, led by Casey Affleck and Anna Kendrick.
Conductor and singer/songwriter Jon Brion is set to create the original score for LAIKA and Focus Features’ animated comedy-thriller ParaNorman.
Focus also announced that Tucker Albrizzi, Alex Borstein and Jodelle Ferland have joined the voice cast, which is led by Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Anna Kendrickand Bernard Hill.
The stop-motion animated comedy is currently in production at LAIKA’s Oregon studios, and hits theaters on Aug. 17, 2012. The project reteams LAIKA and Focus, who worked together onCoraline.
ParaNorman also reteams Brion and Focus. Brion’s original score for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind earned him a Grammy Award nomination for best score soundtrack album, among other honors. He also received a Grammy nominee in the same category for Magnolia.
“Jon’s inventive, genre-defying musical storytelling will provide the perfect accompaniment toParaNorman’s groundbreaking visuals and emotionally resonant narrative,” LAIKA CEO Travis Knight said.
In ParaNorman, a boy who can talk to ghouls and ghosts is called into action when zombies invade his town, and must ultimately help save the community from a centuries-old curse.

moviemazz: Exclusive interview with Jodelle Ferland
Jodelle Ferland, what a lil’ champion. I interviewed the 16-year-old actress a few weeks ago ahead of her trip Down Under this weekend for the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Brisbane. You may have read part of my exclusive chat with Ferland when we discussed her audition for the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. Unfortunately she didn’t get the part and, as we now know, it went to the much older and blonder Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence. I still have my fingers crossed for her nabbing a support role, but I digress. Ferland is best known for her role as Bree Tanner, the ill-fated teen vamp from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. For horror buffs, we’ve been familiar with Ferland for a long time. After becoming the youngest Emmy Award nominee in history for her role in TV movie Mermaid at age four, Ferland has taken the unusual route of going from child star to horror movie star. The 16-year-old Canadian has made a career out of manipulating her innocent exterior into something much more sinister and given her filmography, many consider her a pre-pubescent Jamie Lee Curtis. Outside of the Twilight Saga, she has a dedicated network of horror fans who have followed her starring roles in films such as Silent Hill, They, The Messengers, Trapped, Case 39 and TV shows such as Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis, Smallville and Dark Angel.

The Bree Tanner’ Book to be a movie?
Jodelle Ferland sure thinks there's a good possibility!
The Twilight saga may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean our fanged friends can’t return for an encore! Jodelle Ferland, who played new vampire Bree Tanner in Eclipse, told HollywoodLife.com about the chances of turning Stephenie Meyers‘ novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner into a movie. “I hope they’ll make a movie,” she told us March 10 at the 31st Annual Genie Awards. “It’s definitely a possibility.”

Twilight Saga gives young Vancouver actors a taste of celebrity
VANCOUVER -- “It’s a little bit strange sometimes when you’re not expecting it,” 16-year-old Jodelle Ferland giggles. “You’re just walking down the street and somebody comes up to you and knows who you are.”For the Vancouver-based, Nanaimo-born actress, playing Bree Tanner in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has turned her into somewhat of a teenage celebrity.
Ferland is just one of many B.C.-based actors who have seen a boost in their profiles — and careers — thanks to the vampiric pop-culture phenomenon, which was filmed in B.C.
