The Romanians Go To Hollywood

I laughed so hard reading this...Guri is a master at humor.

So, I get an invite for the Breaking Dawn 1 premiere and a few thoughts immediately jumped into my mind:

"Why in the name of all that is holy would anyone care that some actor from Breaking Dawn Part 2 is there?"

"Did I piss Summit off?"

"Can I wear the suit I wore to the last funeral?"

"Cool. Free alcohol."

I am on my way to Germany when this premiere invite comes in. I'm at the airport while I am on the phone to my wife and she tells me that my manager is all aflutter with anticipation of the red carpet. I ask the question that seems to have escaped all my representatives,

"What exactly am I promoting? The fact that I do, in fact, still breathe?"

"I dunno, angel.", she says. My wife calls me "angel". I can hear the taunts from Twifans already. Shut up.

"Well, that makes me feel HIGHLY uncomfortable. It's feels like I'm just press whoring around an event that is REALLY about Rob, Kristen, Taylor and broken headboards."

"Well, you don't HAVE to have your reps there. You COULD just go, see the movie, have a few cocktails and leave. It wouldn't be unheard of, you know, to just be a normal person."

So, I let my mangers know that there will be no big broo-ha-ha over this event and I would not be using a P.R agent for the BD1 premiere. In fact, I didn't think I wanted any reps there. I would, however, let them all "do their thing" at the premieres for Breaking Dawn 2. BIG argument ensues. I win with this simple logic.

"There are no less than 34,507 new vampires in BD2 and many will be vying for attention. The press, the fans, the reviewers, NO ONE knows who will be doing what and how large their characters may or may not be in the in the final cut for BD2. AND I am sure that, as BD2 is still A YEAR away, they could all care less at this point."

Don't get me wrong. I am VERY proud of my role in BD2. I am very proud to be a part of the Twilight Saga. I am very excited to see how fans react to the Romanians. I am also cheap. P.R. agents are EXPENSIVE. And, kinda…weird at red carpet events. I dunno…to me, it feels SUPER weird and egotistical to parade around in front of people that don't care all that much, insisting that they SHOULD care. I call a few actors from the cast to see what everyone else's plans are for the evening and apparently, I wasn't the only one to feel that way. So, I make a mental note to travel the Twilight black carpet with equally cheap cast mates that are also going the P.R.-less route. You know. Make it easier for the press if we're all just a group shot. Sort of a 'Those Nutty New Vampires' thing.

Noel Fisher's Experience at the MTV Movie Awards

The Twilight Zone.

It’s a cliché, but one of the most wonderful things about acting is that it is NEVER the same twice. Every character is different, every location is different, every crew, cast and experience is different. Twilight is no exception. It is by far the most popular and recognizable project I have been a part of. But the really amazing thing about the Twilight universe is what a community it is. Never have I seen a clearer example of this than the MTV Movie Awards.

First, I want to say that being invited to a show you have seen more times than you can remember growing up is pretty exciting and a bit of a trip. But when I arrived I saw that my childhood imagination had NOT exaggerated the size of this event! The red carpet alone must have been 400 ft long. So long in fact, that you couldn’t see from one end of it to the other. It just kept going until it wrapped around a corner and out of sight!

So there I am in almost a dream state—walking the Red Carpet at the MTV Movie awards. And from out of nowhere I hear my name being called. I turn to the audience bleachers and see—in person for the first time—a fellow tweeter! Of all places to finally meet someone! A wonderful, grounding surprise—and as it happened, the first of many.

After the red carpet I make my way to the theatre where the award show will take place. If you watched the show, you must have noticed the enormity of the place. It felt absolutely MASSIVE to me, like you could fit half of Los Angeles into it!

Not quite ready to sit down, I head back out to maybe snag some popcorn (yup, the golden popcorn awards serve popcorn). Standing there I hear another voice, and turn to see—you guessed it—another tweep! The twitterverse has descended on the MTV Movie Awards!

After chatting with my tweeps for a while and finally putting some faces to the names I see on my phone from day to day, it’s time for the main event. I head into the theatre, and there, in the seat next to mine, see a face that I have not seen in YEARS: Tinsel Korey (or as you may know her, Emily). Tinsel and I did a TV show in Vancouver called Godiva’s back in 2006! We’re talking about a major time warp! I knew she was in the Twilight films but what were the chances this old Vancouver friend would be sitting right next to me?! This day just kept getting better and better!

Sitting there reminiscing about the Vancouver days, the rest of the wolf pack sits down all around and there’s a tap on my shoulder. I turn and see a familiar face looking at me with surprise.

“Noel?” He says, “Is that you?”

It’s Bronson Pelletier, and I just don’t know what to make of this anymore. Am I being punk’d? Bronson was on a show in Regina, Canada called Renegadepress.com that I did BEFORE Godiva’s! Probably 2005! This is just getting crazy! It’s a Vancouver reunion at the golden popcorn awards!

The show starts and, of course, it’s great. Lots of laughs, a fantastic trailer and a particularly entertaining kiss (yes, you remember) make it a truly memorable experience. And as I walk outside afterwards, thinking this can’t possibly get any better, I run smack into Erik Odom!

Erik and I worked together on the film for several months, and he knows my quirky, strange side fairly well. So when I started to jabber about how cool this whole thing was, all the while doing an odd little jumping dance to convey my excitement, he wasn’t surprised. But it was a different story for the ladies standing beside him who were also watching me. Well done, Noel. Well done.

Thinking I have just made a very strange first impression indeed, Erik introduces me to several of the people who hold the online Twilight universe together. I am speaking, of course, of the fansites. I think almost half my Twitter following happened to be at the MTV Movie Awards this year! : )

Finally ready to leave, I end up in a lovely conversation with one of these women who describes how wonderful it has been to get to know and watch the actors in Twilight grow and flourish in their careers. It’s a conversation that encapsulates the support and love that radiates across this world that I am now part of—the world of Twilight.

Looking back on that day, I really feel that last conversation was the perfect way to end the night. What I really remember about the awards that day is THAT conversation. That’s what it’s all about. The tweeps I got to meet, the conversations we had and my long lost friends from Vancouver. After all that, I might even have to change over to team Jacob. I mean…half the pack is from my hometown ya know?

Ya think vampires are allowed to do that? ; )

*Warning about language*

Daniel Cudmore and Toni Trucks...GFYS

When you're shooting on location for 5 months, you come up with some pretty juvenile inside jokes, catchphrases and pranks. For example, what started as three extremely tired actors getting exceptionally silly while grocery shopping at Whole Foods turned into an elaborate game between myself, Lee Pace and Christian Camargo wherein one of us would, at any time or place, kick one of the others in the shin as hard as we could and then run away.

But that's another blog.

My Twitter Followers know that there is currently a GFYS game playing out in real time - started by Charlie Bewley, who was quickly joined by Daniel Cudmore, Patrick Brennan and Toni Trucks in the GFYS Guri Weinberg campaign. Bewley and Brennan dropped out, Cudmore took the lead andTrucks keeps the pressure on. Thus, the name of this blog. Hey Cudmore and Trucks…if you're reading this…this blog will have your names and GFYS combined on a Google search soon! It's GFYS 2.0

But WHAT is GFYS?

GFYS started one day as Noel and I were walking back into our trailer after a long day's work. We each had one half of the same trailer as dressing rooms and our doors were on opposite ends. As we were opening the doors to our dressing rooms, I called out to him,

"Hey, Noel…"

He earnestly looked at me. "Yeah?"

UBER casually I say, "Go f*** yourself."

On his look of shock, I went into my room and shut the door. I admit, I was laughing pretty hard. The look on his face was priceless.

The next thing I know, an A.D. comes knocking on my door. When it's an A.D. at the door, that means we are needed on set. I have wardrobe to reassemble and it's a cold Baton Rouge winter day, so there's a minute or two of clothes prep/bundling involved with walking back on set. Finally, I'm good and I open the door. The A.D. looks up at me, smiles and says sweetly,

"Um, Guri? Don't need you on set, actually. Noel just needed you to go f*** yourself." and I can hear Noel laughing next door so hard, I think he might choke to death.

From there, as you might imagine, the cast and crew all heard about the GFYS game and immediately embraced the concept. The GFYS game was played in many variations on a daily basis - there were many combinations of cast mates, crew, hotel staff and occasionally, innocent bystanders in various scenarios. They're ALL funny. However…I can only elaborate on one GFYS story to give you the whole FLAVOR of this ridiculous game. The GFYS tale would not be complete without what I like to call my personal GFYS journey with Noel Fisher.

So, back to the same cold, rainy day on set where it all started. Noel had sent an A.D. to tell me GFYS, laughed like a serial killer on a sugar high and I think…this is the end. But Noel had enjoyed this all TOO much. So, he KEEPS sending A.D.'s to knock on my door all day. Every 5 minutes, SOMEONE is telling me GFYS. It was a LONG day. I get back to the hotel, getting ready for bed and a note comes under the door from the hotel. Usually, it's a bill so I go get it. Instead of a bill, it just read, "Mr. Weinberg…please GFYS. Thank You." As I am deliberating over that, I get a call in my room. I warily answer the phone and it's Toni Trucks in a thinly disguised voice posing as the hotel front desk staff. I'm waiting for it.

"Yes…Mr. Weinberg…we just wanted to make sure you got your bill and GFYS."

Then later, I got a text from an A.D. The text read, "Guri…your call time has been changed to go f*** yourself."

Oh, no Noel DIDN'T...

I get on set the next day and amble up to Bill Bannerman, our co-producer.

"Hey Bill…I need a favor. I need you to tell Noel 'go f***yourself' for me."

"Guri, what IS this 'go f*** yourself' thing all about? I hear everyone doing that?"

So I tell him. He's TOTALLY into it and thinks it's pretty funny (I mentioned we were ALL really punchy at this stage in filming, right?) and he calls one of the P.A.s over.

"Go get Noel Fisher. I need to talk to him". She runs off to get Noel, a little perplexed and nervous. I'm in heaven. I start walking to the stage door, far enough away for him not to suspect anything, close enough to see his face. Noel comes rushing onto set, pulling his wardrobe together as he walks. He looks nervous. He sees me.

"Hey, man. I just got called to set to talk to Bill. Know what it's about?"

"Noel. Dude. How would I know? He didn't say anything to me."

He nods, looks over at Bill and walks over. I linger by the door so I can see his face as he walks up to Bill.

"Hey, Bill. You wanted to see me?"

"Oh, yeah. Look, Noel…go f*** yourself."

Noel's face was nothing less then GFYS poetry.

So, I'm on set getting some water out of the cooler. We're on a short break and most of the cast and crew is there. The stage has a microphone for the director or A.D. to talk to people from behind the video monitors. As I'm getting my water, I hear in a low, raspy voice…

"Hey…Guri…"

Now, it KINDA sounds like Wyck Godfrey, our producer - if Wyck was a lounge singer. I turn around to find the source of the voice, as does the rest of the cast and the crew.

"Yeah…Guri…over here…go f*** yourself."

Nicely played, Noel, I'm thinking. Let's kick it up a notch.

So, what could I do? I had a talk with Kristen, then Rob to arrange a spontaneous GFYS from each to accent the rest of Noel's day. They were SO into it. However, before I know it, Rob is wrapped for the day and I'm thinking he forgot. Oh, me of little faith in Rob's silliness. As he walks off set back to his trailer,

"Noel. Go f*** yourself." Rob said it so casually, Noel looked at him for a second, not believing he'd heard what he just heard. Noel looks at me.

"I can't believe you did that. Nice.", he says.

"Thanks, man." I respond. But he hasn't heard from Kristen yet. AND now we're called back to set...

The minute I walk on set, Kristen is READY to do this thing with Noel. She keeps looking at me when he's not looking, mouthing, "Now?" I'm mouthing back, "Not yet." She keeps shooting me looks every few seconds, "Now?" and I keep going "Not yet. Rob just did it." I am thinking to myself, MAN, she REALLY wants to tell Noel to go f***himself. Did he piss her off or what?!? There's a break coming up and we all come back on set. Except Kristen. I look for an A.D.

"Where's Kristen?"

"Oh, she wrapped."

NO WONDER she wanted to do it so quickly. Dammit.

Now, a sane person would have let it go. I, on the other hand, saved the rest for Canada.

In Canada, I go to Peter Facinelli. This is TOTALLY up Peter's alley and quite frankly, something he was BORN to do.

Peter waits until right before 'action' to look at Noel and say,

"Hey Noel. Go f*** yourself." Then Bill called 'action'. Noel's reaction? Just another slice of GFYS genius.

So, next I went to Bill Condon. You guessed it…he was TOTALLY into it.

Bill waits until we're shooting a scene where we are perched in a rather uncomfortable position. He comes over, looks up at us and asks,

"Guri, you alright?"

I answer, "Doing OK, Bill. Thanks."

He looks at Noel. "Noel…are you cold? You seem cold."

Noel looks at him and says, "Actually Bill, it IS a little…"

Bill cuts him off. "Yeah? Go f*** yourself."

Noel. Is. Speechless. OH! The joy…but I'm not done. He THINKS I'm done but I am not done.

I mean, I WOULD have been done if I were not a complete CHILD but I am, so…I went to Stephenie.

I am full of confidence as I approach Stephenie. We were simpatico since day one and I just KNOW she'll be the feather in my GFYS Noel Fisher hat.

"Stephenie, I need you to do me a favor. Please tell Noel to go f*** himself."

Silence. She is staring at me and it occurs to me that I may have crossed a line here. Now, I am now wondering how long it will be until Stefan is cut from the film.

"I can't use the "f" word.", she says. OMG is all I am thinking…THAT is her only issue with it?!? Relief pours over me…along with renewed dedication to the GFYS Noel Fisher campaign I have launched.

"Stephenie…substitute ANY word for the "f" word. Trust me…HE'LL KNOW."

"I would be comfortable with that…you know what would be REALLY funny? If we…" and she went on to describe several GFYS games to play on several unsuspecting folks involved with BD. Her creativity knew no boundaries and suffice it to say that Stephenie is the COOLEST woman EVER and a GENIUS!!!

Naturally, Stephenie handled my request brilliantly and Noel was suitably shocked by the lengths I went in order to achieve this GFYS victory.

Most likely, we will all NEVER end this game. Now, I know some Twifans will use this opportunity to tell the cast GFYS at every opportunity. Just as a warning, it MAY sound different coming from a relative stranger than it would a co-worker, so be prepared for some shocked reactions if you go this route. And, it may not ENDEAR you to the cast as they may not understand you're joking. In fact, you could get a visit from security. So, as much as the visual of the Twilight/BD cast being told "Go f*** yourself!" from fans worldwide makes me laugh till I cry, it may not be the best idea in practice.

Now that my disclaimer is in place, I would like to say with love, respect and admiration to Twitter followers who have gotten involved in our exceptionally juvenile game…GFYS. :)

Noel Fisher Opens Up About 'Breaking Dawn'

The cast of "The Twilight Saga" might have won all their MTV Movie Awards for "Eclipse," but the real focus was on the trailer for "Breaking Dawn."
Because the hype is so strong for the fourth installment of "The Twilight Saga," newcomer Noel Fisher was invited to attend his first MTV Movie Awards. Fisher, who plays Vladimir in "Breaking Dawn," described the experience as "way next level."

Fisher won't hit the big screen until "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" comes out in 2012, and he was completely unwilling to share any plot tidbits when MTV News caught up with him on the red carpet.
"Can't tell you about that yet! I'm in the second movie, I can tell you that. But other than that, can't tell you too much about the actual script or what happens in it," he said with a laugh.
Since it was his first Movie Awards and the rest of the "Twilight" cast's third, MTV asked if any of his co-stars gave him some words of advice for walking the red carpet.
"The biggest piece of advice I found was just be yourself," he said. "The really nice thing about it is that everyone is so friendly, so just kind of relax and be yourself and get to meet people."
Fisher said he had a similarly good experience on the set of "Breaking Dawn," where everyone welcomed him in as part of the "Twilight" family. The vibe on set was "really fun," he said, especially since Vladimir comes into the story at a point when many other new characters join up with the Cullens as well.
"One of the best parts about doing this for me was everyone was really friendly. They have such a nice camaraderie and such a nice repartee back and forth. You can see it onscreen, [and] it's very much offscreen [too]. There's a lot of joking and having a good time," he said. "They're all very professional and they can do that, and then they can turn in and be in what they need to be in. It was really nice."
Another exciting part of coming to the Movie Awards for Fisher was the chance to see the exclusive "Breaking Dawn" trailer. Unfortunately someone leaked the sneak peek before the Movie Awards started, but Fisher said he held off on watching the video so he could see it at the show.
He said he was a bit upset about the fact that it had been leaked ahead of time and the fact that "Twilight" exclusives have been leaked in the past.
"There's a lot of excitement about the movie and people want to see it really badly, but I think that the point of it, you kind of have to hold on to it and just let it come. It's more satisfying," Fisher said.

Exclusive: BATTLE: LOS ANGELES’ Noel Fisher Interview

Noel Fisher has been acting steadily since 1999, but while you probably recognize his face, you might not know his name yet. You soon will. Along with his current stint on Showtime’s ‘Shameless’ as neighborhood bully and Gallagher antagonist (not to mention potential love interest for Ian Gallagher) Mickey Milkovich, Noel has pivotal roles in two major films coming out this year.

In the alien invasion thriller BATTLE: LOS ANGELES, Noel plays Private Shaun Lenihan, whose first battle could be mankind’s last stand against the aliens who want to colonize our planet. Then in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, Noel takes on the role of Vladimir, a vampire of the Romanian Coven who, along with Stefan (Guri Weinberg) comes to the aid of the Cullens when they are threatened by the Volturi.

Daemon’s Movies talked to Noel about what it was like fighting aliens in Battle: LA, what we can expect next for Mickey on ‘Shameless,’, and what he thinks Bill Condon should tease Twilight fans with next.

You’ve been working steadily for a long time, but you’re on quite a roll now –

Noel Fisher: Yeah, the last couple of years have been something special, I have to admit. I’ve been thanking my lucky stars for a little bit now.

‘Battle Los Angeles’ is coming out soon and you play Private First Class Lenihan, right?

Noel Fisher: Yes. Shaun Lenihan.

And what can you tell us about Shaun?

Noel Fisher: He’s the rookie Marine in the platoon. He’s kind of fresh out of boot camp and I think he’s the only of them that hasn’t seen combat yet. He’s kind of thrown into what’s a very un-typical combat situation. Basically he’s the fresh faced kind of kid and the rest of the platoon is really trying to look out for him as they do for the newbies.

And right off the bat he has to face aliens?

Noel Fisher: Yeah. It’s kind of bad luck, isn’t it? He doesn’t get it easy. He doesn’t get taken easy on by the fates, I guess. He doesn’t get to go and have a regular fight. No. He has to go and fight these crazy aliens.

So, the deal is that your platoon goes into Los Angeles to try and rescue the survivors?

Noel Fisher: Yes. Basically the idea behind the movie is that this massive invasion starts happening and the really cool thing about it is that it’s very real time, a real time response of the military in terms of a homeland invasion as it happens across the globe. There is a boundary created, a line of defense basically and we get sent across that line to try and retrieve any civilians that we can find, anybody who needs help on the other side of that line that the American military is trying to maintain. It basically gets pretty hairy.

Is Shaun a scared newbie or is he more cocky?

Noel Fisher: He’s definitely…the thing about this is that I think all the actors brought to the table that everyone is pretty scared, as I imagine combat is with whoever you’re fighting. It’s kind of how you deal with it. The veterans have a bit of an easier time dealing with it for the most part and he’s definitely scared going in. It’s all quite overwhelming, but I think that he handles himself relatively well considering.

Did you have to do a lot of stunts?

Noel Fisher: We did a lot of weapons training, and yeah, there are quite a few encounters that we have to defend ourselves, do what we have to do.

Did you do some of those stunts yourself?

Noel Fisher: Yeah. Actually, I got to do all of my own stuff. I got to do pretty much everything. I know there were some sequences with some other people that had to use stunt guys, but for the most part, that was the really cool thing about being trained, that we were prepared to do the stuff that we needed to do. We knew how to use our weapons. We knew how to do assault tactics, charges, different advancing and defending column lines and all this stuff. So we knew how to kind of do all of it because we were lucky enough to get go through boot camp.

What was the hardest part of that boot camp?

Noel Fisher: There were a number of hard parts. The waking up at 5AM everyday for workout was a little rough. You have to get up at 5AM and go do a lot of sit-ups and a lot of push-ups and go for several miles of running which wasn’t the funnest time, but it kind of was at the same time. It was hard in the moment, but it also created a lot of camaraderie. That was the biggest part of the experience, I think, that helped me.

You go through that in the Louisiana summer heat, the boot camp. There’s a lot of waking up at 5AM and all this kind of craziness, but it was just so much fun at the same time and it created such a strong bond with all the actors. I mean, I love these guys. These guys are all so fantastic. I think that’s a really important thing that came out of boot camp, this idea that you have a platoon and you do care about these people. We all cared about each other so much in real life and I think that really comes across on screen. I think that’s really important for these kinds of movies.

How much of the film have you seen?

Noel Fisher: I have unfortunately not see that much. I know that some of the guys got to go to a screening, but I wasn’t in town. I was bummed about that, but I’ll get to see it at the premiere. I’m really excited about that. I have seen some stuff on ADR, doing some looping stuff, but that’s pretty much it. The stuff that I have seen, it looks pretty cool.

What do you think people will be thinking at the end of the movie as they leave the theater?

Noel Fisher: I think when they leave the theater they’ll be thinking, ‘That’s something that I have no seen before.’ I really think that just the experience of shooting it and the trailers and all of that, and I know what Jonathan [Liebesman] was going for, what they were all going for…you see a lot of sci-fi movies that have a lot of this slick factor, ‘Independence Day’ and stuff like that where there’s a heightened reality to a lot of it and the really cool thing about this movie is that it’s so based in reality. It’s really gritty and very real.

It’s unlike anything that’s been done before because it’s basically just a war movie that happens to have aliens in it. It’s very done in a kind of ‘Black Hawk Down’ style where we have the modern day equipment that we’d have right now if this happened. We don’t have any special kind of advanced weapons or anything like that. It’s very much what would happen right now if this happened and I don’t think that’s been done before. I really think that people are going to enjoy the realism of that.

What was your first reaction when you saw the look of the aliens?

Noel Fisher: When I saw the aliens, and again I’m sorry to repeat myself, but I thought, ‘Wow. I haven’t seen that before.’ That’s exactly it. It’s kind of a very specific new take on aliens in a lot of ways.

I’ll give you this hint until you see the movie. They are very, very committed to kicking our butts. Yes. Very, very much so. You’ll see when you watch the movie. They’re here to stay. They’re committed.

Then you go from this to ‘Twilight; Breaking Dawn’. How cool is that?

Noel Fisher: I mean, yeah. It has been an unreal couple of years. That’s been a lot of fun, too. That’s really a big blast and again in Louisiana, in Baton Rouge.

You’re all done in Baton Rouge now, right?

Noel Fisher: Yes. I’m done there. We’re going up to Vancouver in a couple of weeks to finish some stuff, but yes, all done in Baton Rouge. I spent another two months down there and that was a really lovely time because a lot of people stayed in the same hotel that a lot of the guys on ‘Battle’ stayed at and everyone remember Gino [Anthony Pesi] and Will Rothhaar. Everybody was at that hotel. So that was really nice.

What can you tease about what you’ve shot so far?

Noel Fisher: I can’t really tease much. We shot some really cool stuff. I know that there’s going to be some really good sequences. I can tell you that. The visual aspect of a movie like that is pretty outstanding and the team that they have to do all the stuff: Bill Condon and everyone else, it’s going to be really cool. You’ll have to wait and see.

I understand the visual and special FX are actually being taken up a notch for ‘Breaking Dawn’ compared to the other ‘Twilight’ movies. Is that fair to say?

Noel Fisher: Absolutely. This is the end. This is the end of this world, at least for now, and they really are going out with a bang. There are some big things in the works, some very big things.

Bill Condon and the producers have released little photos to keep fans excited. What do you think they should release a photo of next?

Noel Fisher: I don’t know. I think one of the really cool things about the book and the movie is the different, all these different covens, all these new covens that you get to meet. It really expands Stephenie’s [Meyer] world in a way that hasn’t happened up until now. It’s been kind of isolated to just Forks, the ‘Twilight’ town and this really blows the whole world wide open. I think getting to see some of the other covens might be cool.

And then on to TV where we can see you right now –

Noel Fisher: Yes, ‘Shameless’.

It’s been an awesome remake –

Noel Fisher: Yeah. It’s really amazing material. The writing is just fantastic on it and it’s so much fun to shoot.

Last night’s episode was a big development for Mickey and Ian –

Noel Fisher: Yeah, that was a bit of a surprise, isn’t it?

Obviously, being gay in that neighborhood and with that father is going to be even less comfortable for Mickey than it is for Ian. How much of that is going to be explored?

Noel Fisher: Well, the first season it gets explored a little bit, but it’s more teases. Hopefully we’ll hear about a second season and maybe I’ll be back and get to see a little bit more. Who knows?

What’s your favorite part of playing Mickey?

Noel Fisher: I really like that he’s just so angry all the time. He’s just angry all the time and then it kind of makes sense that he’s carrying around this massively big secret and then it kind of all falls into place, like, ‘No wonder he’s so upset. I get it.’

Do you have a favorite role that you’ve played so far?

Noel Fisher: Everything is so cool. I’ve had an extraordinarily lucky career, I feel, and all these different parts have really had very specific things about them. I really enjoy playing Mickey on ‘Shameless’. Obviously, ‘Twilight’ and getting to play Vladimir is just like this totally other really interesting thing.

The coolest thing about the ‘Battle’ character, Lenihan, is just that he’s so innocent going into this and then his whole world gets turned completely upside down, and I guess my favorite thing about being an actor is that I get to play these different parts that are so different from each other. I get to play Lenihan who’s like the newest of all new guys in ‘Battle’ and then I go to ‘Twilight’ where I play one of the single oldest vampires in the world. So the differences in there are just really fun.
