Baby Renesmee extra for Breaking Dawn

One-year-old Ava Jolie Mayeux is not just any Louisiana toddler.
The Gonzales native has been a vampire baby eyed by millions of people all over the globe.
Ava was hired as an extra to appear in the box-office smash, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1,” which was filmed partly in Baton Rouge in 2010.
But Ava was no ordinary extra.
The film’s main character Bella Swan, played by actress Kristin Stewart, becomes pregnant in the film after marrying vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen, played by actor Robert Pattinson.
After Swan gives birth to the baby, there is a scene near the end of the film where Swan’s trusted friend Rosalie, played by actress Nikki Reed, holds the infant.
That was Ava’s big close-up.
Or at least, as her mother Christina James said, her big profile.
“You can definitely see it’s her in the scene,” James said.
Ava was not just new to the world of big budget Hollywood movies. She was new to the world. Ava was 3 weeks old when the filmmakers shot her scenes as Renesmee Cullen in Baton Rouge in December 2010, James said.
Ava almost did not make it onto the big screen.
Her mother said she initially did not want to apply online for her daughter to become an extra in the film and felt uncomfortable sending in photos of Ava to the casting officials.
However, James’ friend, Jennifer Lemons of Baton Rouge, kept pushing her to apply and send Ava’s pictures to the casting officials.
Lemons works for Active Entertainment LLC at Celtic Media Studio, where the Baton Rouge filming took place, she said.
“I wound up sending Ava’s pictures in just to see if they would even respond,” said James, a 19-year-old freshman at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. The casting agents emailed back the next day saying they wanted to hire Ava, her mother said.
“I was shocked; then I started to get excited,” James said.
Ava was involved in one day of filming in Baton Rouge from noon to 6 p.m., her mother said.
Ava, her mother and great-grandmother, Sandra James, were all on the set that day in December.
Sandra James said the family was treated like royalty.
“Everything was perfect. It was cold at the time of filming but they always had a warm van waiting for Ava if she needed to be taken somewhere,” Sandra James said.
The Ascension Parish women met and briefly talked to the film’s director, Bill Condon. They also met Reed, who held Ava in the film.
“She (Nikki Reed) came into a trailer with us to talk. She was very nice,” Christina James said.
Reed told the women she wanted to spend some time with Ava before shooting the scenes to bond and make sure the actress and the baby were comfortable with each other, Sandra James said.
“I think they bonded right away. She (Reed) looked like she had held babies before and looked very comfortable,” Sandra James said.
Reed told E! Online reporters Ted Casablanca and John Boone in November that the real baby she worked with on the film was ‘great” and “didn’t cry much.”
Reed told E! Online she also had to work with rubber and mechanical babies in some scenes in the film.
Ava was very safe during the entire experience, she was able to sit near her baby at all times and she would love to do it all again, Christina James said.
Ava’s father, Tyler Mayeux, is also proud of his daughter and her accomplishment, James said.
Sandra James said she has thought about the fact that millions of people all over the world have seen Ava.
“It’s kinda cool. This is something she (Ava) is going to be able to tell her children and grandchildren about one day. It’s a great story,” Sandra James said.

Are Jacob & Renesmee Getting Their Own Movie Series After Twilight?

Stephenie Meyer already dished the goods on Kristen Stewart‘s Bella wedding dress, and now she may have let the cat out of the bag about a new Twilight sequel! In her new interview with USA Today the writer refused to answer whether Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) are capable of having children, because she might write more about them.
As you guys know, when we leave Breaking Dawn Jacob is a teenager and Renesmee is aging rapidly. But does this mean if Jacob stops himself from aging, as werewolves can do, and they catch up to each other they could have kids?
“That is a question I’m reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I’ll go back to their story,” says Stephenie. What?! She might come back to the story of Jacob and Renesmee?! We wouldn’t blame her, the whole imprinting plotline is fascinating, although many fans were disappointed that Jacob “imprinted” on Bella and Edward’s baby. As the devoted fans know though, this only means he is protective of her and doesn’t mean he has any inappropriate feelings towards Renesmee. He will wait until she gets older to act on anything, as he should.
So what do you guys think of a Jacob and Renesmee movie or series? Would you want to see this? Since we haven’t gotten more of Midnight Sun, Twilight told from Edward’s perspective, and Stephenie says she’s not working on it anytime soon, maybe we can get our fix with a Jacob/Renesmee story. (And would anyone else want Taylor and his Renesmee-lookalike-girlfriend Lily Collins to star in it??)

A few of the stars of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 were present on the Part 1 red carpet Monday night in Los Angeles – and perhaps one of the most anticipated spoke to Hollyscoop!

In the video interview below, Mackenzie Foy (who plays Renesmee – daughter of Bella and Edward) describes the character and playing the part. She’s adorable!

Renesmee's Lullaby is Written and Rob Will Play It In BD

Thanks to Carter Burwell we will be seeing Rob play the piano once again in the final Twilight movie. I personally love that they brought him back, the lullabies will have a nice consistency since they are created by the same person (Edward) like the books say they are.

And he just wrote "Renesmee's Lullaby" for Twilight Breaking Dawn 2, which Rob Pattinson will play on camera. The film will be released in November 2012.

Meet Rachel St. Gelais, one of the little Renesmees

I'm guessing they are using her size and her body for a younger Renesmee, then superimposing/morphing Mackenzie Foy's face on her body, like they did with Armie Hammer so he was able to play both Winklevoss twins (they used the body of a Ralph Lauren model for the second twin, then Armie acted both parts and...you have twins) in The Social Network. I guess this is where the experts like John Bruno come in. She isn't listed on IMDB yet, but BD's casting group is from my area and I know some people who know casting, etc.

Newcomer Mackenzie Foy to play Renesmee in 'Breaking Dawn'

t’s a big day for Twihards. First Maggie Grace signs on to play Irina. Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Summit Entertainment is remaining mum on the issue. But to see Foy’s angelic face, which could very well be the offspring of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, check out her website.

Highly anticipated role of 'Renesmee' now being cast for Breaking Dawn Part I

The casting directors for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I" are now casting the role of "Young Renesmee". They are looking for a young girl who has some acting experience and is confident on a film set environment. This girl should have self-composure, good physical posture, and be very attentive, able to take direction well, and be quick to react. They also would prefer a girl with dance training.
The casting directors are not having open casting calls for this role due to the extremely high profile nature of the project. Rene Haynes, who was the casting director that handled Native American roles for the Twilight Saga films New Moon and Eclipse, held open casting calls for the films. She was quoted as saying, “It was crazy, especially in the early days, in the first four weeks after the announcement that my office was casting these roles we stopped counting emails after 20,000. We had created a dedicated email address for the project. We got so many we had to create another one."
After an open casting call was posted on Craigslist for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the day was filled with tears and disappointment as hordes of teens from all over North America were eventually turned away. Since many teens came from far and wide, including some from Florida, Washington, Oregon, and other cities, the early end to the open auditions sparked a wave of emotions as tears began to flow while others in the crowd became angry after standing and waiting almost all night in the Vancouver cold for the casting call.
There are currently three casting companies working on Breaking Dawn 1 & 2, and they all have gone public with email addresses. These email addresses have been flooded to the point of becoming filled to capacity and many submissions are being returned as "undeliverable" or "email not valid". These email addresses are likely created mainly to appease the masses and are not being used for actual casting purposes.

Renesmee?

Could this little girl be Renesmee for a little bit in Breaking Dawn?  I think she would be great for a little part (I mean Renesmee grows/matures so fast they need a bunch of actresses).  I think she could be the final Renesmme at the time of the fight scene.  She is 6 (he is 9)

3-D Movies Are Taking Over, But There Are Some Moments We Never Want To See Up Close

I totally agree with this article.  There are just somethings that should not be 3D.

It's 3-D movie week on MTV News! Hollywood is slowly but surely growing obsessed with 3-D, and we are positive it won't take long for more than just action and animated films to feel the change. Comedies and romances are sure to be the next genres to get the dimensional treatment, too, and the next thing you know, you'll have to wear glasses even to see the most heart wrenching of films!

While this technology is exciting, there are some classic movie moments we'd like to see preserved in standard format because they are just so much better that way. After the jump, check out our anti-3-D wishlist!

SEX SCENES

While we always love ourselves a steamy scene, it's awkward enough sitting in a movie theater surrounded by hundreds of other people while there are two people right in front of you getting it on. There's something about really seeing the details of it in 3D on the big screen that kind of freaks us out.

AWKWARD FIRST DATES

It can be painful to watch those cringeworthy meetings as it is, but seeing them in 3-D might make these dating disasters too realistic. No one actually wants to see um Cameron Diaz's "hair gel" circa "There's Something About Mary" up close and personal, right?

PHYSICAL COMEDY

Judd Apatow has brought to the comedy reel a subtle, more sardonic form of humor than the Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey days of old. But somehow we can see "Dumb and Dumber 3-D" or "Overdone Almighty" projecting themselves in theaters near us soon.

BIRTHING SCENES

Think back on the birthing scene in "Knocked Up." Painful enough in 2D, huh? Now imagine the spawn of Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl spewing out at you in 3D. No, we don't want Renesmeeto be given birth in 3D in "Breaking Dawn" either.

DRAMATIC DEATH SCENES

Jack floating away in "Titanic." Tyler standing in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11 in "Remember Me." Jenny being sick at the end of "Forrest Gump." Nemo's mom dying at the beginning of"Finding Nemo." We know one day the moments in films that make us cry the hardest will make their way to three dimensions, but we'd like to keep our tissue budget low for as long as possible.

Kristen Stewart Talks 'Breaking Dawn' Script, Hopes Renesmee Won't Be A 'Scary, Teeth Baby'

There is a multitude of questions surrounding "Breaking Dawn," the potentially final installment of "The Twilight Saga," including who will direct the film, when it will begin production and whether or not it will be broken up into two films — but as it stands, the only true guarantee is that "Breaking Dawn" will exist on film some day.

At the Sundance Film Festival, MTV News spoke with Kristen Stewart to see if she could shed some much needed light on the highly anticipated movie, but it turns out that the on-screen Bella Swan is just as in the dark as the rest of the franchise's fans.

"I don't even know if it's going to be one [film] or two, or who is directing it, or when it's even going [to start]," she admitted. "I know that it's going to go, but not when yet."

The most important issue facing Kristen's character is the birth of Edward and Bella's baby daughter Renesmee. In Stephenie Meyer's novel, Renesmee's birth is so graphic that Bella nearly dies but is ultimately converted into a vampire and saved by Edward. While the scene is currently unwritten as far as the "Breaking Dawn" script goes, Kristen is eager to learn how it will translate from book to film.

"I haven't seen a script, but I'm not alone in really, really wondering how they're going to handle that," she said.

As important as the birth scene itself is the baby that is born. Will Renesmee be played by an actual baby or will she be given the CGI treatment? It's a tricky question that Kristen doesn't have an easy answer for, but one thing is certain — Renesmee has to be adorable.

"Little Renesmee, she's got to be cute," said the actress. "She can't just be this scary superhuman teeth baby!
