Kristen Still Hopes K-11 to happen

Back in March, we learned of a plan for "Twilight" players Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed to appear together "in a fact-based drama/comedy that would have them playing men." The movie, called "K-11," would mark the directorial debut of Stewart's mother, Jules. And it would place the two ladies-as-men in an LA prison with co-star Jason Mewes. Wacky.
We caught up with Kristen this week as she was promoting the Friday release of her latest effort, "The Runaways," and she shared a little bit of what's been going on with "K-11" since we last heard about it.

"It's just one of those things where you try and get a movie off the ground that's small," Kristen said of the non-movement.
Money seems to be the biggest problem right now. Even with Kristen involved -- arguably one of the bigger stars out there right now -- "K-11" is just not coming together. It's admittedly a tough sell. Stewart and Reed may be hot commodities in Hollywood, but with the former playing an autistic male-to-female transsexual and the latter playing a tattoo-covered, meth-addicted transgender, the sexy appeal of ladies in prison is somewhat diminished, to say the least.
Still, Kristen remains hopeful, if realistic. "It just never got legs," she said. "I still really hope to do it." I hope she gets to as well. It might not be the most marketable idea ever conceived, but I'm ever-curious to see how the "Twilight" stars leverage their unexpected success. Robert Pattinson wowed his fans with last week's "Remember Me," and early reports indicate that Kristen will do the same with "The Runaways" this weekend.
