The 2010 Oscars saw laughter, tears, surprises -- and the first female Best Director ever. Of course, the red carpet was no less exciting. Newcomers like Anna Kendrick and Gabourey Sidibe proved they've got major staying-power in gorgeous gowns, while teen sensations Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart showed they're all grown-up in sophisticated dresses. While each starlet shined in her own way, whose look do you like the best? Check out our list of the 10 Best Dressed at the 2010 Oscars and let us know what you think in the comments!

BLUSHING BEAUTY
Anna Kendrick knows that the best way to stand out on the red carpet is to go nude. And no, we don't mean streaking! Anna's nude-colored Ellie Saab Haute Couture gown perfectly complimented the stars pretty pale skin and auburn hair. The romantic draping and lace details make this dress a definite 'do' in our books!
#3. kristen stewart
IN THE NAVY
Ever the tomboy, Kristen Stewart vamped up -- pun intended -- her look in a navy Monique Lhuillier gown. We love seeing K.Stew glammed up but we're glad she still stayed true to her low-key vibe with a bare neckline, easy hair and barely-there makeup.

Oscars Fashion Best And Worst Dressed: Red Carpet Oscars 2010
There were a lot of fashion winners last night on the red carpet at the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony. The red carpet at Oscars 2010 was full of elegant but understated gowns this year, many with sequined detailing and satin textures. Many celebrities seemed to hit the mark this year by dressing for the occasion without overdoing it. The best dressed honours at this year's Oscars go to the likes of Kristen Stewart, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, and Sandra Bullock.
Twilight's leading actress Kristen Stewart was the big fashion winner on the red carpet at the 2010 Oscars. Stewart wore a deep midnight blue strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier. Her hair was wrapped in a bun and complemented her simple makeup. Stewart has already made the best dressed Oscars 2010 lists for numerous style critics, perhaps because her usual look is so contrastingly casual.
Meryl Streep lived up to her Oscars style icon status once again this year. Streep wore a long-sleeved white gown by Chris March, a designer for "Project Runway." Kate Winslet also got style points for her strapless Yves Saint Laurent gown in a metallic silver hue. Joining the ranks of these best dressed Oscars 2010 icons is Sandra Bullock who won the Best Actress Oscar last night. Bullock wore a champagne coloured fitted gown by Marchesa.
Miley Cyrus, Penelope Cruz, and Mo'Nique all topped best dressed lists for the red carpet at the Oscars. Cyrus wore an age-appropriate Jenny Pacham gown while Cruz donned a deep redDonna Karan gown. Mo'Nique, winner of the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, wore a beautiful satin blue gown.
While there were many style winners last night, Sarah Jessica Parker topped the lists for worst dressed at the Oscars. Parker wore a buttery yellow Chanel couture gown with flowers around the neckline. The gown seemed a bit outdated and didn't complement Parker's shape or her beautiful features. Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, and Anna Kendrick also joined the ranks of worst dressed at the 2010 Oscars. Many style critics thought their dresses just didn't seem to pop.

KRISTEN STEWART
Wow! Doesn't she scrub up well? Ditching her signature grungy look, Kristen Stewart opted for all-out elegance in a Monique Lhuillier mermaid gown, H.Stern diamond bracelet and chic updo. What a vamp!
ANNA KENDRICK
Anna Kendrick might have missed out on the Best Supporting Actress Oscar to Mo'nique, but she definitely won in the style stakes, thanks to her stunning blush pink Elie Saab Haute Couture gown. We LOVE!

Remember the excitement surrounding your prom: the hours it took to find the perfect dress, the time spent on hair and makeup and then there’s the anticipation of the big day. For Hollywood the Academy Awards is Prom night. For some what they wear to the Oscars is more important than there wedding dress.
The preparation for last night will have started months ago, stylists on the hunt for the perfect dress, wooing designers to donate their very best. For some the effort paid off, for others it all went terribly wrong.
Here is the roundup of who was wearing what at the Academy Awards 2010:
Our Top 5:
1. Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhuillier (pictured above)For the girl who doesn’t like these red carpet events and is much happier in jeans and converse than a gown she sure has done well. A form fitting black dress against her pale skin and hair chicly pulled up with subtle smoky eyes, give Kristen a look that is hauntingly beautiful.
5. Anna Kendrick in Elie Saab
Another one to watch on the red carpet, Anna has consistently wowed this awards season. The choice of this pale pink off the shoulder number gives Anna an angelic look in a dress that is both age appropriate yet fashion fabulous.
