While 100 Monkeys was on their winter tour, me and my friends, we called ourselves the Monkey Mafia, attended the show in Birmingham, Alabam. We drove down from Kentucky, one girl drove from Connecticut to attend the show. The boys had an in store show at Charlemagne Records where we gave the boys Christmas gifts. We were all wearing a shirt that said Monkey Mafia on it, so the boys talked to us all during the in store meet n’ greet. The guys put on a stellar performance that evening and my friend, Raven, made a sign that said “Can the Monkey Mafia take a picture with the band?” She held it up during the performance and the boys basically signaled to where Marty, the manager, was sitting. So after the show, the boys had a meet n greet session with the fans and we found out that we were going to be taken backstage to get a picture with the band. So we were led by security to backstage and the boys all came in. We all felt very honored and special to be escorted backstage for a picture. Lani, their publicist, took our picture and took two for good measure. They were all so sweet and teased us about being on the Godfather’s good side. After we took pictures, we all got hugs and I handed Jackson some homemade egg shakers, to which he said, “F*ck Yeah! We need more of these.” It was such a fun moment and one that all of us will always remember I am sure.
