It was big news when we learned Darren Aronofsky would no longer be directing “The Wolverine,” and now the floodgates are open with talk and rumors of who might replace him in the director's chair.
Nothing is official yet, but Deadline is reporting that they've heard David Slade and Duncan Jones' names as potential replacements for Aronofsky. Slade's a very familiar name on the comic book circuit, having directed "30 Days of Night" and recently being named as the “Daredevil” pseudo-sequel's director.
Jones, meanwhile, directed “Moon” and the just-released “Source Code,” and was once rumored to direct "Superman" before Zack Snyder snagged the job.
Our own Splash Page editor Rick Marshall wrote up a piece suggesting David Slade a few weeks ago, and again in a post that suggested several different directors.
Jones, aware of fans’ interest in having him be the new director, tweeted jokingly on March 18: “Wearing my fav Japanese wolverine T-Shirt today just to mess with people.

All in all, things feel very up-in-the-air and unclear for the future of “The Wolverine.” We'll keep you posted as we hear more.
