Opening in theaters later this month, WATER FOR ELEPHANTS is the much-anticipated big screen adaptation of SARA GRUEN’S best-selling 2006 novel about love and danger under the Big Top. Set in the 1930s against a circus backdrop, the film is directed by FRANCIS LAWRENCE (I AM LEGEND) and stars REESE WITHERSPOON, ROBERT PATTINSON, CHRISTOPH WALTZ, HAL HOLBROOK and TAI, a 42-year-old elephant and veteran of such films as BIGGER THAN LIFE and THE JUNGLE BOOK. A huge hit with fellow cast members, TAI was a source of constant entertainment and proved to be quite the professional. At the recent press conference for the film, PATTINSON talked about their first meeting.
