DreamWorks/Disney's "The Help" got all the assistance it needed from moviegoers on its first day, grossing $5.5 million at the domestic box office.

The adaptation of the Kathryn Stockett novel, which stars Emma Stone, debuted in 2,511 theaters.
"The Help" also scored an A-plus grade from research firm Cinemascore.
The film will be joined at multiplexes on Friday by yet another Final Destination movie, as well as a concert film spun off from the Fox TV show "Glee."
