4. "Snow White and the Huntsman"
U.S. opening: June 1
Comparables: "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" (2009) - $296 million, "The Hunger Games" (2012) $360 million*, "Thor" (2011) - $181 million, "Robin Hood" (2010) - $105 million
Prediction: $220 million
Lowdown: This is a tough one. On the one hand, "Snow White" has huge interest from females. In fact, it may be their number one film of the summer and that could fuel a monster opening. On the other hand, the materials suggest there is enough action and hard core fantasy (and not to mention Chris Hemsworth) that it should also play well with men. Universal has a delicate balancing act here, but if they pull it off they could easily have a four-quadrant mega-hit on their hands.
