Don’t just sit there and envy Jen and K-Stew’s gorgeous legs — find out how to get them! We give you the low-down on how to tone up just like these A-list actresses!
Admit it — when Emma Watson steps out onto a red carpet wearing a mini-dress, your eyes are drawn to her perfectly-fit legs and you wonder, “How does she do it?” And really, is it even fair that Kristen Stewart gets to have Robert Pattinson AND a great body? (Answer: NO!) HollywoodLife.com spoke to celebrity fitness trainer Harley Pasternak for six strong tips on getting your legs all revved up and ready to go for the new year.
- Tip #1: “I really try to focus on the back of the thighs, the butt and the inner thigh. I don’t worry about the quads as much as those three areas.”
- Tip #2: “It’s very important to train your legs from all angles. Mix up your work out with a variety of leg exercises that will work up muscles you didn’t even realize you had.”
- Tip #3: “A walk lunge is great for the front of the thighs and the butt. Start at one end of the room and walk to the other side with your hands on your hips, alternating each leg in a lunge position.” (Fun fact: Jessica Simpson did this to train for her Daisy Duke shorts!)
- Tip #4: “If you want to work out the back of your thighs try a dumbbell dead lift. Stand up while holding a pair of dumbbells in your hands. Keep your back arched and push your hips back as far as you can and then slide the weight down the front of your thighs. Once they are down your thighs, pull up and stand up straight again.
- Tip #5: “A cable adduction does wonders for your inner thighs. Attach a resistance band or a cable from a weight machine to your inner ankle. Bring the attached leg away from your body and then back again to your other leg. Repeat the amount of reps you desire and then switch legs.
- Tip #6: “Don’t concentrate solely on your legs. You need to train your whole body. You can’t do the same muscles every day. You don’t want to get to the point where your legs are sore all of the time. You can get overuse injuries. A healthy amount of exercise is the best way to gain results that last.”
